PETERSHAM — A community-wide Fun-to-Fund Silent Auction to benefit Petersham nonprofit organizations is planned for next week to help non-profits to thrive and offer a way to join communities together to help others.

Everyone, from any town in the area, is invited to bid on the items or services being offered. The auction items will be set up in the hall of the Unitarian Church, One Common Street, Petersham, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Jan. 22, 24,and 26, from 3-7 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 23 and 25, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

On Saturday, Jan. 27, from 3-6 p.m., at the hall of the UU Church, all are invited to a festive reception with refreshments, as the final bids can be cast and the results will be announced.

“Our most important goal is to have fun and encourage the community spirit we all enjoyed before Covid,” said Robin Koenig of Petersham, one of the event organizers. “While we do that, we can also bring the benefits to many town organizations.”

Some auction items being offered are a five-course gourmet dinner for eight, a gift certificate to a tattoo parlor, a boat excursion on the Quabbin Reservoir and a historical tour of the Center Cemetery, which is circa 1749.

Anyone from any town can offer a service or item to the auction. All proceeds will be given to the Petersham organization that the donor specifies as their choice of recipient.

Organizations that may benefit must be from Petersham. Among the many potential organizations a donor could specify include the Lions Club, the Congregational Church, the UU Church, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Petersham Art Center, Petersham American Legion Auxiliary, Petersham Historical Society, or the Petersham Animal Shelter, among others.

For any questions or donations, call Robin Koenig at 978-724-0213. The week of pre-auction bidding and the final event will take place at the UU Church, One Common Street, Petersham. The event is non-denominational.
