LaRose campaign paused due to Guard activation

Will LaRose, candidate for state representative in the Second Franklin District, is being activated Friday by the National Guard.

“Effective immediately, I will be pausing my personal campaign activities. My focus for the next few weeks will be on helping our fellow Americans in the fight against COVID-19,” LaRose said in a prepared statement. “Our first responders and front line workers have been courageously holding the line for months, and I am happy to provide some much needed relief to them and members of my unit. Times like these are exactly why I raised my right hand back in 2014 and joined the Army: to step up in chaotic times and help those in need. It is a privilege to continue to do my own small part in this fight.”

LaRose’s unit, the 2-108th Infantry, is currently operating in Utica, New York, where its assisting with the coordination and oversight of missions in New York City.

While he will not actively be campaigning, his team will continue to share updates and news on his behalf. Those who have a question directly for Will can expect a response promptly when he returns from duty.

“We deeply thank you all for the support of our campaign thus far, appreciate your patience during these times, and look forward to returning in late June to continue our mission to win the Second Franklin District,” he said.

LaRose is running against incumbent Susannah Whipps, I-Athol.
