Athol Police Log: Feb. 10-11

Monday, Feb. 10

4:13 p.m. — 911 call for a vehicle that slipped out of gear and rolled into another unattended vehicle, New Athol Road.

5:02 p.m. — Male party looking to speak to an officer in regards to his lost cell phone, Main Street. Someone found it and they want him to pick it up. Officer gathered cell phone with no issues.

7:09 p.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for a 56-year-old male that is having chest pain, Pine Street. Assisted AFD.

8:09 p.m. — Fax received informing of a party that lives in Athol that was bitten in the face by his dog, Goodale Street.

8:26 p.m. — Officer out with vehicle that has a cab light on, South Street. Officer stood by while vehicle was secured. No issues found.

8:57 p.m. — Female party stating someone keyed her car, Main Street. Officer out at Gibson Drive to speak to involved female.

8:57 p.m. — Caller looking to speak with an officer regarding her brother, Patrick Avenue. Advised party of section 35 options. Also advised to call the police if needed. Offered a welfare check this evening. Party did not think it was necessary at this time.

9:01 p.m. — Male party stating his vehicle was broken into at some point over the weekend, Twichell Street. Just wanted it logged.

9:45 p.m. — Two parties stating a loud explosion type noise in their neighborhood, Chestnut Street.

10:11 p.m. — Suspicious vehicle, Bearsden Road. Sent on way.

Tuesday, Feb. 11

12:31 a.m. — Male party called on mother who wants him and his girlfriend out of the residence but they do not have anywhere to go until the 14th of this month, Park Street. Mother called on unwanted son and his girlfriend, wants to know her options. Officers made contact with party. Party became upset with one of the officers and asked him to leave the property.

6:48 a.m. — 911 caller reporting a motor vehicle accident due to ice, West Royalston Road. No injuries. Dale’s has the vehicle.

9:29 a.m. — Caller reporting a vehicle that is sitting between her house and her neighbor’s house with two male occupants, Sanders Street. Reporting party does not know why they are parked there. Spoke with owner of the motor vehicle. They are working with the homeowner to remodel the house.

9:57 a.m. — 911 caller reporting smelly black smoke coming from the basement, Prospect Street. Fire Department advising that this is a pellet stove and everything is under control and they will be attempting to gain access.

10:44 a.m. — Officer advising that he is investigating a haze which might be smoke, Marble Street. Located homeowner who stated he just started up the wood stove, no issues.

10:48 a.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for a 73-year-old with COPD who is having difficulty breathing, Pequoig Avenue. AFD on multiple calls and are requesting a mutual aid ambulance for this call. Woods notified and will be responding from Athol.

10:52 a.m. — Officer is out talking with some parties in regards to an incident that occurred on Cottage Street, Main and Pleasant streets. Two male parties at the stop light, out of their vehicle and arguing in traffic. One party stated the truck hit his rock wall on Cottage Street at Hapgood Street. Other party stated he was unaware of the damage made. Information was gathered. Officer checked the damage. Small amount of damage to the rock wall.

11:25 a.m. — Caller is requesting a welfare check on a subject who is not answering the door, Beacon Street. Dispatch advised they made contact with party who did not hear them at the door.

12:18 p.m. — Caller requesting assistance with her 29-year-old brother who is mentally unstable at this time and is out of control, Chestnut Hill Avenue. Reporting party stated he is yelling at their mother and he needs to go to the hospital for an evaluation. Subject made suicidal statements in officers’ presence and was placed under section 12.

12:25 p.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for a 58-year-old male party with chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue, Brickyard Road. Orange EMS dispatched for mutual aid.

12:32 p.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for an 88-year-old with difficulty breathing, West Royalston Road.

1:30 p.m. — Report of a needle just to side of the front door, Exchange Street. Item located and secured.

2:09 p.m. — 911 caller reporting two loose goats, White Pond and Partridgeville Road.
