Athol Police Log: Feb. 1

Saturday, Feb. 1

2:34 a.m. — 911 caller advises approximately 30 minutes ago his wife thought she heard footsteps and has now found a vehicle parked in his driveway, Oxbow Road. Vehicle is off and locked, but the rear windows are down. Officers responded and checked vehicle owner’s house on the way, but no answer. Officers checked the area, but negative contact. Officer located the registered owner at his house. Same states the car broke down. Officer advised reporting party of the situation and they requested the vehicle be towed.

4:51 a.m. — 911 caller advising of a motor vehicle accident, Daniel Shays Highway. Car versus two poles with heavy damage to the vehicle. Poles are damaged, wires are hanging approximately 6 feet off the ground. A 20-year-old from Fitchburg will be summonsed on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.

5:35 a.m. — Party advises subject has been yelling and crying for the past three hours, Red Brook Lane. Per Red Brook management residents are to call when this happens to try and get the subject some help. Upon arrival spoke with subject who stated that she did not realize she was being that loud. Options were discussed to get her some assistance.

11:01 a.m. — Party advises his son has taken off again, Cheney Street. Reporting party was able to trace his phone to Fitchburg. On call back the reporting party was provided with his options and was also provided with an address in Fitchburg. He was advised to contact Fitchburg PD and have them do a welfare check.

1:35 p.m. — Serve warrant, Lake Mattawa Road. Corey Paul Martin, 44, of Orange was arrested on three active warrants.

2:08 p.m. — Party states her father “just hung up” on her and she has not been able to reach him, Sandra Drive. Reporting party states his answering machine doesn’t pick up. Officer responded and the reporting party’s parents were fine.

2:17 p.m. — Party states a pickup loaded with furniture pulled up to residence and a male party climbed through a window of the residence and now they are unloading the pickup into the garage, Brookside Road. Officer responded and found two individuals moving furniture inside of the garage to the residence. One of the individuals recently purchased the house and will be doing repairs before moving in.

3:24 p.m. — Party called stating he had an agreement that subject can take their children for visitation today, East River Street. The reporting party is concerned as the subject and the kids are with another subject and he is a level 3 sex offender. The reporting party said he called the kids and they were in the car alone with subject. Female subject was called and she said the kids were never in the car alone with male subject and will be bringing them back at 7 p.m., the time that was agreed to in the order. The reporting party was advised of this and of options.

7:15 p.m. — Party calling as she thinks her car was hit while parked at this location between 9 and 10:30 p.m. last night, East Main Street. Damage to the grill and blue paint transfer on driver’s side. The reporting party said she spoke with someone at Walmart who checked the camera system and did not see anything.

10:12 p.m. — On patrol officer located a car parked and running at Mahar, South Main Street. Spoke with subjects who said they were there talking. Also spoke with two other subjects who said they were waiting for the other two. All were spoken with and sent on their way.
