ATHOL — The public is invited to join a tour of two Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust properties with forester Mike Mauri on Friday, May 24 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The group will first meet at the Fox Valley Conservation Area in Phillipston, located approximately 1.5 miles from Phillipston Common heading down Petersham Road and bearing right onto Lincoln Road for 1 mile. The trail head and parking will be on the right, just before the turn to Prospect Hill Road.

The group will then drive to Guiney Memorial Forest in Royalston for a look at a second property owned by Mount Grace. Mike Mauri is preparing 10-year forest stewardship plans for these and two other Mount Grace properties, and will discuss ways that the land trust — and the general public — can manage land to increase biodiversity, promote recreation, generate timber income and respond to climate change. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to KimLynn Nguyen at Nguyen@mountgrace.org or call 978-248-2055 ext. 14.
