Two injured in motorcycle accident

ATHOL — The Athol State Police responded to a motorcycle accident on Route 2 westbound, Saturday May 11 at 1:20 p.m. According to Trooper Dustin Fitch, office of State Police Media Relations, a crash involving two motorcycles occurred on the Exit 17 ramp. A 29-year-old male from Raynham, riding a 2006 Yamaha R6, and a 37-year-old male from Somerville, riding a 2012 Yamaha, both received serious injuries that appeared to be non life-threatening. Both operators were transported to Athol Hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Athol State Police.
