H.S. Soccer: Azemina Cecunjanin, Emma Savoy power Greenfield girls past Pathfinder

Leading 3-1 at the half, the Greenfield girls soccer team lit up the scoreboard for six goals in the final 40 minutes of action to pull away with a 9-2 triumph over Pathfinder on Monday in Three Rivers. 

Azemina Cecunjanin led the way with a four goal, one assist performance. Emma Savoy had a hat trick and tallied an assist, Kaitlin Lavoine scored and dished an assist, Jenny Petcu found the back of the net and Elderina Cecunjanin had an assist to lead the Green Wave to victory. 

Makayla Valente made six saves for Greenfield. 

Girls soccer

Frontier 0, Palmer 0 — CC Green made 10 saves in a 0-0 draw against the Panthers on Monday. 

St. Mary’s 3, Athol 0 — Jenna Bonenfant made 13 saves in the Bears 3-0 loss to the Saints in Athol on Monday. 

Pope Francis 11, Franklin Tech 0 — Sarah Szalai and Kiera Fitzgerald both recorded hat tricks to lead the Cardinals past the Eagles, 11-0, in Turners on Monday. 

Boys soccer

Franklin Tech 4, Duggan 0 — The Eagles struck twice in each half to earn a 4-0 Tri-County victory against Duggan on Monday in Springfield. 

David Klempner and Sam Lashtur each had a pair of goals in the victory, both scoring once in each half. Colin Adams assisted two goals while Robert Belval recorded an assist in the win. 

Renaissance 2, Greenfield 2 — Caleb Thomas found the back of the net in the first half and Theo Popusoi lit up the scoreboard in the second half as the Green Wave battled to a 2-2 tie with the Phoenix at Vets Field on Monday. 

Popusoi picked up the assist on Thomas’ goal. Daniel Pena-Chadee made 12 saves for Greenfield.
