ORANGE — No injuries resulted from a first-alarm fire involving a shed on Sentinel Elm Road Saturday night.

Multiple calls reporting the fire began to come in at 7:46 p.m., according to a post on the Orange Fire Rescue EMS Facebook page. The approximately 20-by-30-foot storage building, on property owned by The Farm School, was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived. There were no occupants in the structure.

According to the post, there were reports of an explosion being heard. However, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

In addition to the Orange Fire Department, firefighters from the Athol Fire Department responded.

“We would like to recognize the staff of The Farm School for providing us with pertinent information about contents of the building upon arrival and, more importantly, keeping all the children safe and accounted for,” the post reads. “While a bit scared, the children reacted calmly and staff did a great job explaining the situation to them.”
