Several incumbents retain seats in uncontested Wendell election

WENDELL — There were no surprises in Monday’s election, with Selectboard member Gillian Budine retaining her seat for another three years in one of eight uncontested races.

Town Clerk Anna Wetherby reported the town will contact write-in candidates for races in which there were no ballot contenders. No one ran for two- and three-year positions on the Board of Assessors, a three-year spot on the Board of Health, four- and five-year seats on the Planning Board, a three-year term on the Wendell-New Salem School Committee and a three-year position as a library trustee.

The results of the other uncontested races are as follows:

■Moderator, one-year term — incumbent Kathleen Nolan.

■Cemetery commissioner, three-year term — Sylvia Wetherby.

■Constable, three-year term — incumbent Anne Diemand-Bucci.

■Road commissioner, three-year term — Patrick Taylor.

■School Committee, three-year term — incumbent Beth Erviti.

■Wendell Free Library trustee, three-year term — incumbent Phyllis Lawrence.

■Tree warden, one-year term — incumbent Clifford Dornbusch.

According to Wetherb, 91 (or 8%) of the town’s 729 registered voters cast ballots on Monday.
