Alpine Skiing: Mohawk Trail’s Taylor Loomis makes it a perfect 3-for-3

Three PVIAC races, three wins for Mohawk Trail’s Taylor Loomis.

On Thursday at PVIAC Alpine Race No. 3, the senior blazed through the course in a time of 34.40 seconds, good for another first place finish at Berkshire East.

Three fellow Warriors placed in the top 10, with Ellie Pinkham in third behind a run of 36.10. Addie Loomis was fourth with a time of 36.53 and Emily Sisum took sixth with a 36.79 finish.

Northampton’s Ellie Mahoney placed second overall with a run of 35.26.

Mohawk’s Sofiya Slocik-Gritzner also placed in the top 20 with a time of 42.32 seconds. Amalie Rowehl (26th), Lydia Sargent (33rd), Caroline Makosiej (34th), Myah Grant (45th) and Cali Price (82nd) all had impressive days on the mountain.

On the boys side, Weston Den Ouden was the Warriors’ top finisher, placing sixth with a time of 25.81 seconds. He was joined in the top 10 by Ben Martino, whose run of 26.13 placed in ninth.

Hampshire’s Edward Pryzybla took first with a time of 24.25, followed by Nate Jones of Northampton in second and Declan Sears from Pope Francis in third.

Mohawk Trail’s Michael Harrison’s run of 27.00 placed him 20th while Gage Patenaude placed 29th.

Alex Schreiber (43rd), Owen Heilman (44th), Reid McCoy (53rd), Travis Russell (56th), and Liam Green (94th) all competed for the Warriors on Thursday.
