ORANGE POLICE LOGSNovember 14 - 18Thursday, Nov. 14

12:08 p.m. - Suspicious vehicle reported on New Athol Road. Reporting party advises a vehicle was driving off the road, it then parked in the back of the building when he is not supposed to park and went into the building. On arrival, the male party was located and was advised of the complaint. He stated he usually parks there and will move if there is an issue. No issue was found in where he was parked and there was no signs of impairment present.

Friday, Nov. 15

9:02 a.m. - Suspicious vehicle reported on Wheeler Ave. Officer responded and found to be company doing work as contractor for National Grid. Spoke with party from National Grid who confirmed the workers were supposed to be in the area. She said this has happened before and they are trying to get flyers made up to hand out while doing the work.

2:14 p.m. - Suspicious activity investigated on Shingle Brook Road. Control advised a report of suspicious activities at this location. Officers responded and checked. Reporting party states they saw a group of kids in the woods earlier and noticed their lock for the electrical box is cut off. Officer advised reporting party to call the electric company to replace the lock (thin metal type) and call police if they see those group of kids again. Officer checked the other neighbors and did not see the same damage.

2:18 p.m. - Walk-in to speak with an officer about possible computer scam in which her screen froze up and she was supposed to wire money overseas to get fixed. She said the number came up as Microsoft but her friend told her it was a scam and to stop replying. Advised most likely a scam and to bring computer to specialist to see if it can be fixed. No money loss and advised to keep track of her credit cards and history.

Sunday, Nov. 17

3:07 p.m. - Reporting party states they had their bicycle stolen and the women threatened to beat them up and their mothers too. On arrival contact was made with three juveniles who gave very conflicting stories of what happened. In regards to the comments made by the women, the women advised the kids to go home and stay away from the park and if there parents had an issue then they could come and speak with her.

8:46 p.m. - Desk officer called advising they took a call for a party off of E. River Street pointing a laser into an aircraft overhead. Reporting party did not have an exact location, stated northeast of the airport. Officer checked area, nothing found.

9:21 p.m. - Officer advised possible water leak on King Street. Highway superintendent notified, will relay to Water Department as well.

Monday, Nov. 18

6:36 p.m – Caller advises he is doing some work in Orange and has his trailer parked at the end of the cul-de-sac on Walker Street with cones around it. Reporting party advises he has gotten a couple of calls from a resident threatening to have the trailer towed. He wants to make sure that his trailer is still parked on Walker Street and that it is okay to do so. Officer advised there are no issues as to where the trailer is parked.
