Orange Police Log: March 22-23, 2022

Tuesday, March 22

3:40 p.m. – West Main Street caller reported that a tractor trailer Coca Cola delivery truck was blocking the entrance to his business as well as the apartment buildings on West Main Street. Reporting party thought that the driver was unloading, but he has been inside a long time. The Police found the vehicle was gone on arrival. Officer spoke with the reporting party, who will call when it happens again. This has been a ongoing issue lately.

Wednesday, March 23

7:51 a.m. – Caller from South Main and East Main streets area reported a red Nissan Frontier, which was traveling behind her had pulled up on her right hand side and took a right hand turn onto East Main Street while she was also attempting to turn right; almost causing an accident. OPD located same at Cumberland Farms in Athol and explained and reeducated. No impairment noted.

12:39 p.m. – East Main Street Patrol Officer requested a tow to remove a four-wheeler that was discovered, possible larceny.

3:30 p.m. – Report of suspicious activity involving ATVs in the East Main Street area. One ATV seized. Under investigation.

5:35 p.m. – Caller from Beacon Street reported she has a no trespass on her neighbor and he was on her side of the property. Officer served male subject a hard copy of the order in hand.

7:32 p.m. – Caller from the Red Brook Lane area reported that she believed she and her boyfriend may have witnessed a vehicle get stolen about 20 minutes earlier. Vehicle was described as an older model tan rectangle body style like a Cadillac. They observed a male in his 20s wearing a ski mask, black zip up sweatshirt and dark colored jeans run from their building and speed off quickly in the vehicle. Shortly thereafter, Police performed a traffic stop due to the earlier call. The vehicle matched the same description and was pulling into Red Brook Lane. The registered owner was driving and stated he delivers pizza for Zeda’s in Athol and had been there earlier. He was advised the reason for the stop and sent on his way.

8:31 p.m. – East Main Street traffic stop for making an illegal turn into Walmart. Verbal warning.

9:49 p.m. – Congress Street caller reported he has two people who are AWOL and have been gone since 10 to 10:30 a.m. that morning. They were supposed to go to Springfield and return and had yet to do so. Reporting party stated he only wanted it on record that the two individuals did not return and denied wanting to report them missing. He was advised if officers came in contact with them they would be notified.
