Orange Police Log: July 17, 2020

9:00 a.m. — Party advises she has a boy in foster care and the hearing between DCF and his parents is today. Advised to use extra caution and keep doors locked, always have a cell phone and to call right away if she sees anything suspicious or cars in the neighborhood that shouldn’t be.

10:29 a.m. — Party believes someone broke into his property that has been vacant, Lois Street.

10:31 a.m. — Party called into the station looking to speak with an officer, Brookside Road. On call back, the reporting party states that her upstairs neighbor’s dogs were being loud earlier, which caused her dog to run into the bathroom and jump into the shower. The reporting party wanted the incident on record.

10:50 a.m. — Call into the station looking for an officer at the Executive Inn in regards to guests in her room, Daniel Shays Highway. On arrival, the reporting party states that the owner of the hotel is not allowing her to have guests. She was advised that the property owner has the right to deny services. The reporting party stated that she will work on trying to find transportation so her guests can leave.

10:59 a.m. — Party requests an officer regarding her vehicle being blocked in by another vehicle, West Main Street. Located owner who moved the car and was advised not to park there in the future.

11:38 a.m. — Received a call that party is looking to speak with an officer in regards to ex. On call back, the reporting party states that she just recently broke up with her boyfriend and now she and her daughter don’t feel safe at the house and would like to know what her options are. Party was advised of the 209A process and stated that she will be going to the courthouse to apply for a restraining order.

1:50 p.m. — Party into the station seeking assistance in getting a 209A, East River Street. Assisted with paperwork and emailed it to the court.

2:18 p.m. — Caller complaining about speeding cars in North Orange from the Wheeler Avenue intersection west to the town line, Main Street. Caller requests patrols.

3:28 p.m. — Party would like to speak to an officer, Lake Avenue. Same advised her neighbor who lives across the street keeps coming out and taking videos of them. The reporting party does not even know the neighbor’s name. Spoke with the reporting party who explained how the were putting up no trespassing signs and the neighbor across the street was standing in the road with their phone and she thinks she was video taping them. The reporting party was wondering if this was legal. Advised the reporting party if she was in the road, video taping it was legal to do so.

5:19 p.m. — Spoke with the reporting party who was looking to report a past sexual assault that occurred in Fitchburg. The reporting party said it was reported to DCF, but not to the police. Called Fitchburg PD who said to have reporting party come to their station to file a report.

5:29 p.m. — Party requests to speak to an officer, New Athol Road. Reporting party’s aunt’s purse is missing and he wanted to talk to an officer about it. Officer spoke with the reporting party over the phone. He explained that his elderly aunt had been transported to the hospital a few days ago and when her purse was given back to her at Heywood Hospital it was missing her wallet and keys. Her family is going to check her residence in Orange to see if the items are there. They are also going to contact the fire department to see if the items were misplaced.

5:34 p.m. — Party reporting a male/female disturbance, Daniel Shays Highway. Spoke with the male and female and nothing physical reported. One party ended up leaving to go for a walk and let things settle down.

7:44 p.m. — Party advises there is smoke coming from the kitchen window at a residence, West Main Street. Orange Fire advising working fire. Requested barricades in the center of town, top of Ball Street at Kelton Street and OIC building. Highway Superintendent notified. OFD requesting State Fire Marshal.
