Orange Police Log: Dec. 29-30, 2020

Tuesday, Dec. 29

8:34 p.m. — Party advises her neighbor has parked his silver pickup truck in her driveway, Pleasant Street. Spoke to the reporting party who claimed the truck was parked on her property. Same stated it has been an ongoing issue between the new neighbor as to where the property lines are. Reporting party was advised unless she can provide officer with proof of her property lines, that it is a civil issue. Same stated that she is going to have her land surveyed in January. Reporting party also stated the other involved party removed her fence and was wondering what can be done. She was told that if she has pictures of where the fence once was and that after having the property surveyed it proves the fence was on her property, she can take further action. She was also advised officer would try to go speak to the other involved party. Unable to make contact.

9:08 p.m. — Motor vehicle violation, East River Street. Traffic stop for operating motor vehicle with expired license. Owner/operator issued citation. Motor vehicle picked up by licensed driver. A 23-year-old from Orange will be summonsed on a charge of unlicensed operation of motor vehicle.

9:23 p.m. — Party states the downstairs neighbor is at it again, slamming things and banging on the wall approximately every 20 to 30 minutes and things keep falling off the reporting party’s walls, East River Street. Reporting party would like an officer to speak with her. Spoke to upstairs tenant and advised of complaint. Also attempted to speak to reporting party, but refused to answer the door.

10:58 p.m. — Party calling stating that there is a female that is staying with her and has been trying to cut herself all night, East River Street. Reporting party stated the female is currently walking to the police department to say she was assaulted by the reporting party. Walk-in to the station reported she was just punched in the face. Officers went to the residence and spoke to subject who denied hitting the reporting party. Subject was found to have a warrant and was taken into custody. Reporting party began feeling ill while in the station’s lobby and requested EMS. She was subsequently transported to Athol Hospital for treatment. Bobbijo A. Cote, 41, of Orange, was arrested on charges of a default warrant and assault and battery.

11:10 p.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, West River Street. Reporting party calling for a black Jeep that is driving up and down the road and pulling into people’s driveways. Reporting party stated that the party has loud music and has almost hit several cars. Officer has one under arrest for field sobriety tests, requests on call wrecker. Stephen A. Norwood, 42, of New Salem, was arrested on charges of OUI - liquor OR .08% and failure to display headlights at night.

Wednesday, Dec. 30

8:37 a.m. — Caller reports the little league field/building has been vandalized, Hayden Street. Door handles tampered with and it looks like someone may have tried to light something on fire. Officers responded and spoke with the reporting party.

10:50 a.m. — Traffic stop for failure to inspect motor vehicle, West Orange Road. Citation issued.

11:06 a.m. — Traffic stop for failure to inspect motor vehicle, Walmart parking lot. Citation issued.

11:19 a.m. — Motor vehicle violation, Brookside Road. A 41-year-old from Orange will be summonsed on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended.

3:44 p.m. — Motor vehicle violation, Hannaford parking lot. Stopped for defective exhaust. Operator suspended. K9 Orka conducted drug sniff of vehicle. Citation issued. A 31-year-old from Athol will be summonsed on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended.

6:07 p.m. — Carbon monoxide alarm sounding, South Main Street. Command advises due to homeowner cleaning the wood stove. Under control, remaining on scene too vent.

6:51 p.m. — Motor vehicle violation, East River Street. Stopped for failure to inspect. Drug sniff conducted by K9 Orka and drugs located. Citation issued. A 42-year-old from Orange will be summonsed on a charge of possess Class A drug (Fentanyl).

7:11 p.m. — Party states she and her sisters haven’t heard from dad in over a month and he isn’t returning calls and would like an officer to check on his welfare. Made contact with subject who was perfectly fine. Advised of the reason police were there. Spoke to reporting party and told her he seemed just fine and said he may call her soon.

7:47 p.m. — Caller states the downstairs neighbor is slamming her door, East River Street. Upon arrival spoke to subject who said she was sleeping and not making noise. Another apartment was playing loud music that was shaking the walls while we were there, same advised to turn it down which he did.

9:16 p.m. — Officers and K9 Orka en route for a drug search for a motor vehicle violation for APD. Same done without incident.

9:59 p.m. — Burglar alarm, New Athol Road. Officer responded and checked the exterior of the building. Everything appeared secure.
