Sunday, July 2

4:03 p.m. – Caller from E River Street area reported suspicious activity. Police spoke with the reporting party who was concerned than an individual had wandered onto their property and may be staying out in the woods. 

Monday, July 3

8:52 a.m. – Tully Road caller reported that somewhere between Tuesday and Friday of the previous week, someone had stolen a stone wall. Police were advised it was a 16-foot stone wall, and reporting party wanted it on record since it may come up in the eventual sale of the home.

1:07 p.m. – Caller from E Main Street area reported two small dogs were locked up in a black Toyota with the windows rolled up. Police located the owner who was advised of the complaint. Windows were rolled down and the owner was advised of the consequences.

4:23 p.m. – Caller in the Memorial Park requested police removal of a bag of alcohol they had found.

4:06 p.m. – E River Street caller reported fraud/scam call that had tried to get their Social Security number and other personal information. No information was given. Investigated.

9:06 p.m. – Daniel Shays Highway area fireworks complaint. Police spoke with the individual and advised them of the complaint.

9:51 p.m. – E River Street caller reported that an individual, unknown to them (description provided), had come to their door to ask for a ride. Police located them, and provided courtesy transport.

11:27 p.m. – Fireworks complaint from area of Governor Dukakis Drive. Fireworks were actively being set off on police arrival. Parties responsible took off, but their remaining fireworks were seized.

Tuesday, July 4

2:36 a.m. – OPD assisted APD with a Templeton Road traffic stop. APD had located suspected vehicle involved in the larceny of cooking oil. Both occupants were identified, but denied involvement in the theft. Passenger believed to be the subject captured on camera. Investigation is ongoing.

9:37 p.m. – While officer was on patrol in the Eagleville Road area, fireworks began to shoot off next to cruiser. Police spoke to multiple subjects at the residence.

10:20 p.m. – Following up on a Daniel Shays Highway area suspicious person siting, an intoxicated male party was located and was brought home to a sober adult. 

11:32 p.m. – Water Street traffic stop for failure to stop at a red light.

Wednesday, July 5

12:32 p.m. – Daniel Shays Highway area caller reported possible larceny. Reporting party claimed someone had stolen their orange cone and wanted it back. Officers searched area, but could not locate the cone. Ongoing civil issue.

9:48 p.m. – New Athol Road and Smith Avenue area caller stated they were rear-ended by a vehicle and a man had pulled them out of the car and threw them on the ground. Reporting party had been rear-ended and things escalated to pushing prior to police arrival. See accident report. 

Thursday, July 6

8:21 a.m. – West Main Street larceny reported grease theft. OPD responded and checked. Vehicle in question was gone on arrival, but plate information was obtained. Nothing got taken away at that time as it was stopped by the reporting party.

1:30 p.m. – Magoon Road area caller reported that for last two weeks there had been a cow running around, but they didn’t know where it had come from. Animal Control Officer (ACO) notified.

8:49 p.m. – Station walk-in with a wallet found on East Main Street. Same was returned to owner.

Friday, July 7

3:01 a.m. – Daniel Shays Highway traffic stop for aftermarket lighting.

12:00 p.m. – S Main Street traffic stop for texting and driving.

2:34 p.m. – N Main Street area caller requested assistance with what appeared to be a past breaking and entering attempt. Homeowners stated they had just noticed a screen was broken off the window and there was a metal stand underneath the window, all which was already picked up and put back together upon police arrival. Cameras were suggested for the future. 

 5:25 p.m. – E Main Street party flagged down officer by and reported an intoxicated male was laying on the ground. Police located the intoxicated party and a friend took custody of him.

6:16 p.m. – E Main Street loss prevention personnel notified OPD of a shoplifter in the store. OPD responded and located the suspect. A criminal complaint will be filed with the ODC for shoplifting

Saturday, July 8

9:44 p.m. – Patrol officer in the E Main Street area observed fireworks being set off in rear parking area. Advised to cease.

11:55 p.m. – Holtshire Road caller reported noise complaint from beach area. Ten teenagers were advised of the posted hours restriction and were moved along without incident.

Sunday, July 9

5:44 a.m. – E Main Street store clerk reported a suspicious person incident of a barefoot individual that had come into the store asking for a lighter, or they would just take it. Reporting party provided them with their personal lighter, which was returned to them, but subject was still in the parking lot. Police located and identified the subject. The employee was advised of trespass options should they not want subject to return.

12:05 p.m. – Station walk-in with a pocketbook found on East River Street. Officer was able to locate owner of pocketbook and property was returned. 

12:42 p.m. – E Main Street store employee advised police they had one in custody for shoplifting. Subject was advised by police they would be charged.

3:44 p.m. – Caller was homeless and requesting assistance to find housing. OPD responded and options were provided. The caller informed police they would be staying with a friend for the time being.

Monday, July 10

1:03 a.m. – Patrol officer in the Holtshire Road area removed small tree/traffic hazard from the roadway.

4:10 a.m. – S Main Street caller reported loose cows on street. Farm notified.

Tuesday, July 11

1:11 p.m. – Party in station lobby reported report fraud/scam. No personal information had been given out. Advised to monitor their credit and let their bank know just in case.

2:03 p.m. – Station walk-in reported that their neighbor has an excessive amount of cars (20) in front of residence. 

10:00 p.m. – While at E River Street convenience store getting gas, patrol officer noticed an impaired/intoxicated individual. Courtesy transport provided.

Wednesday, July 12

12:14 a.m. – Holtshire Road traffic stop for stop sign violation.
