Orange Police Log: Jan. 9 to Jan. 13, 2023

Monday, January 9

12:28 p.m. – E River Street caller reported a scam from a company pretending saying that she had made a purchase. No information was given out.

3:00 p.m. – Caller from Daniel Shays Highway requested police assistance with an older lady who was slamming the door in her room, and yelling. Police found subject could not figure out how to make a local call. Assistance provided and she was advised to quiet down.

5:20 p.m. – Police assistance requested at Eagleville Road. Reporting party stated he is the owner of of above location, and a known individual was on his property with a chainsaw cutting wood; that individual is not allowed to be there cutting wood. This could be ongoing civil issue, and advised him to seek court options and learn his options/rights with eviction process.

9:22 p.m. – Police investigated a suspicious vehicle at Lake Mattawa Road. Operator sent on their way.

Tuesday, January 10

4:52 p.m. – E Main Street caller requested a welfare check on a man seen stumbling down the street, and at one point, had his shirt up over his head. Taken to family member.

8:51 p.m. – Police responded to an unwanted person call from E Main Street. Management was having problems with a known male who they had asked to leave several times but kept coming back. Customers complaining about him also. Subject was trespassed and escorted off the property.

Wednesday, January 11

7:48 a.m. – An arrest for trespass, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct was made at E Main Street after police were requested to come to the store for a male who had been trespassed and was in the store creating a disturbance.

9:18 p.m. – Traffic stop on Daniel Shays Highway for failure to stop at a stop sign.

11:22 p.m. – Bicycle violation stop on E River Street; no rear light.

Thursday, January 12

8:11 p.m. – Request from W Main Street for patrol for ongoing issue with several cars, “muffler poppers”, speeding towards the center of town.

Friday, January 13

6:14 a.m. – Police responded to Mayo Road for a possible breaking and entering. Reporting party thought they heard the screen door slam. The residence was checked and there was no evidence of anyone having been there.
