One injured in motorcycle, truck crash in Royalston

ROYALSTON —The driver of a motorcycle was taken to an area hospital following a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday.

According to Royalston Fire Chief Eric Jack, the accident was reported at 4:30 p.m. on July 25. The crash occurred on Athol Road in Royalston and according to the Mass State Police’s Office of Media Relations, involved a 2022 Harley-Davidson, operated by a 22-year-old man from Fitzwilliam, N.H., and a 2004 truck operated by a 61-year-old man from Athol.

The driver of the Harley-Davidson was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries. A Trooper assigned to the Athol Barracks is conducting an investigation into the crash, the cause of which is not known at this time.

Mass State Police were requested to the accident by Royalston Police. Members assigned to the MSP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, Crime Scene Services Section and Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section responded as well.
