ATHOL – The congregational church will host “Opera For the Non-Opera Lover” on June 23, 4:30 p.m., with dinner to follow. The show will feature Ethan Bremner, Sol Kim-Bentley, and Wayne Ward performing some arias, duets and scenes from famous operas. The cost for the concert is $10 and the dinner is $12, or both can be purchased for $20. The church is located at 1225 Chestnut St., Athol and tickets can be purchased by e-mailing Pat Darby at patdarby6@yahoo.com or calling 978-632-8270.
ATHOL – On June 28, Joe from Mobile Mini Golf will have nine custom holes, varying in difficulty, set up throughout the library with drop-in tee times available from 4 to 6 p.m. The game is perfect for all ages and doesn’t require any experience. Mini-golf can help boost motor skills, hand-eye coordination, balance and understanding of physical space.
There will be packets available containing all the details about the library’s kid, teen and adult summer reading programs, which begin on July 1. The Athol Public Library is located at 568 Main St.
ATHOL – The Athol Council on Aging has scheduled a ServSafe certification course. The class is open to the public and is scheduled on Friday, June 28, at 9 a.m. at the Athol Senior Center. The cost per person is $160 and payment is due the day of the class (or earlier). The check should be made payable to Michael Sarasin.
