South Athol church supper June 21

ATHOL – Please come out for the June 21 supper at the South Athol United Methodist Church located at 65 Morgan Ave. Please consider treating “Dear Ole’ Dad” for a belated Father’s Day weekend with a Swedish Meatball supper on Saturday, June 21 served with gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, fresh dinner rolls and, as a change of pace, strawberry shortcake for dessert. All prepared and served family-style by experienced kitchen helpers, many of whom are ServSafe-certified.

Reservations are required and tickets are $15 each for adults, $6 for children over 12 years, children under 12 years old are free for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. settings, and are available by calling 978-249-9212. When making reservations, please specify if they are for “eat in” or “take out”, this will simplify it for servers to accommodate all of diners.

Quabbin Community Band ‘Kids Night At The Bandstand’

BARRE – The June 22 concert theme presented by the Quabbin Community Band at Nornay Park in South Barre is “Kids Night At The Bandstand.” This program is funded in part by a grant from the Barre Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. In addition to audience favorites such as “The Bare Necessities” “The Pink Panther” and,“Captain Marvel” being played by the band, there will also be an ice cream truck providing free ice cream, compliments of Fidelity Bank. Lawn games will be on hand for kids to enjoy and there will be fun balloon making and antics by Maggie the Clown. All summer concerts begin at 6 p.m. Should there be rain on any Sunday evening, concerts are moved indoors to the Barre Town Hall.

Winchendon Summer Eats program

WINCHENDON – The Winchendon Summer Eats program offers free meals for kids all summer long at Toy Town Elementary. The program is open to all kids and teens up to age 18 and runs Monday through Friday, from June 23 to Aug. 15, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and will be closed for July 4. No ID or registration is required.

Kids do not need to be residents of Winchendon or enrolled in Winchendon Public Schools and there will be fun activities each day. No grab and go options available. Lunches will be served on-site.

Transfer station stickers now available

ROYALSTON – 2025 transfer station stickers are now available for purchase. Non-residents are welcome at Royalston Transfer Station. RRATS is a Center for Hard to Recycle Materials and provides waste reduction solutions. Follow this link for hours, fees and more information: https://www.royalston-ma.gov/transfer-station.

Phillipston Community Garden

PHILLIPSTON – The Phillipston Community Garden is a resource available to residents. Agricultural Commission Chair Glenn Whitney stated “We established the Phillipston Community Garden and it has been growing since.” Anyone that would be interested, can contact Dennis Bellabarba at (413) 658-7889.
