Greenfield’s Racquel Provost has her field hockey career at Assumption University off and running on a high note this fall.
Provost, who started at Greenfield High School before graduating from Northfield Mount Hermon last spring, got on the field defensively during the Greyhounds’ second game of the season and was a key cog the rest of the way, starting every game since. She helped Assumption win the Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship and reach the NE10 conference championship game, where the team fell to Saint Anselm College last weekend.
For her accomplishments, Provost was selected to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.
Provost and the Hounds will get another crack against Saint A’s on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Grappone Stadium in Manchester, N.H.
Tickets to the Athol Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony are on sale until next Tuesday.
The ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 24 at the Colonial Hotel in Gardner. Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m., dinner will take place at 6 p.m. before the nine athletes, two coaches and four teams will be inducted at 7 p.m.
The cost is $50. To purchase a ticket contact Donna Lajoie at dlajoie@arrsd.org or at Athol High School’s main office from 7 a.m.-through-3 p.m. on Nov. 9, 13 and 14.
