It was a quite a week for Conway’s Gunnar Moore.

The Country Club of Greenfield product reached the semifinal round of the 106th Massachusetts Junior Amateur Golf Championship in Yarmouth, ultimately falling in a 20-hole marathon match against Boston Golf Club’s Carson Erick on Thursday at Bayberry Hills Golf Course.

Moore, who won two matches on Wednesday to punch a ticket to the semis, was 3-Up after nine holes against Erick. The match eventually went back to all square until Moore won the 15th hole to take a 1-Up lead with three holes to play. It stayed that way until 18, when Erick nearly holed out of the bunker and made birdie to win the hole and force a playoff.

Both players made bogey on the first playoff hole, and Erick’s par on the second hole was good enough to seal a 20-hole marathon victory.

Erick advanced to the championship match later in the day, where Northern Spy Country Club’s Josiah Hakala rolled to a 6 & 5 victory to claim the 106th title. Hakala won five of the first six holes to set the tone and cruise to the crown.
