ATHOL — Children, parents, teachers and generations of alumni enjoyed activities, wagon rides, snacks and snow cones during the Fourth of July-themed Little Tot Day Care 50th Anniversary Open House on Park Street Thursday. Past and present photos were displayed on posters and in albums. A special ceremony was held with diplomas presented to children graduating to Kindergarten. The group sang “Yankee Doodle” and “The More We Get Together” was done in sign language. Juliana Herbert, granddaughter of the center’s administrator Lori Kaltner, said she grew up at the day care and remembers many things like nap time and singing with Lead Teacher Sarah Blair. Little Tot founder Joyce Rousselle said the staff did a “great job” with the open house and that some former teachers attended.
