LETTER: Attend tonight’s meeting

Dear Editor,

I support the proposed Horace Mann II Conversion School at Warwick Community School for school year 2020-2021.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 PM, a Pioneer Valley Regional School District school committee meeting, will occur in Warwick, at the Warwick Community School. A strong showing by residents and families can influence the decision by the school committee as to whether they support the submission of the Prospectus in this first step.

This first stage does not commit the district to anything yet. Agreements and terms would be worked out in the second stage. But we need to be allowed this opportunity to pursue this viable option.

Many community members and educators have been tirelessly working to create a financially sustaining and innovative elementary school for Warwick within the Pioneer Valley District.

I invite and urge Warwick Residents to attend this meeting. If approved by Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, it will be the first HM II Conversion School in Massachusetts.

Clare Green

Educator and Warwick resident
