The Athol Public Library and Petersham Memorial Library will host the Celebrate Spring! Celtic Harp Concert Series. The concerts are celebratory events to usher in St. Patrick’s Day and spring with live Celtic harp music after a long, cold winter.

The harp concerts are performed by local resident Annette Ermini, with a range of classics such as “Danny Boy” and “Scarborough Fair” to Renaissance songs such as “Drive the Cold Winter Away” and “The South Wind” from the 1600-1700s.

“I am thrilled to offer the Celebrate Spring! Celtic Harp Concerts to the community. The concerts will be peaceful, positive, and uplifting events with a Celtic theme to celebrate the season,” stated Ermini.

People often feel relaxed and moved by the gentle, resonant, and magical sound of the harp. Ermini has performed at various venues throughout the North Quabbin region and people have described her music as beautiful, lovely and like angel music—that she has a real gift that makes their day.

The first concert takes place at the Athol Library on Thursday, March 13, 6 p.m to 7 p.m. A second performance takes place at the Petersham Memorial Library, Sunday, March 16, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Light refreshments will also be served at the events. The concerts are free of charge and open to the public—everyone is welcome to attend.

The programs are supported in part by a grant from the Athol Cultural Council and Petersham Cultural Council, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. The libraries and harpist express their sincere gratitude for sponsoring these special cultural events.
