Eagles vote out Senators

The Franklin Tech golf team put together a perfect team performance Thursday at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club. 

Hosting Mahar, the Eagles got a great effort from their entire lineup, not surrendering a single point in a 24-0 victory. 

It was Franklin Tech’s No. 4 player, Brady Booska, who had the best overall day on the course. The freshman shot a 38, giving him match medalist honors among the 12 golfers in the match. In the No. 5 spot, Ryan Artus shot a 42. 

Anthony Zager also shot a 42 in the No. 1 spot for the Eagles (2-2), with Nate Sciandra finishing with a 46 and Alex Sulda shooting a 48 from the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively. Rob Wood closed out the Tech lineup with a 48 from the No. 6 spot. 

Andrew Finch and Dylan Young each carded rounds of 54 for the Senators (0-4). 

Frontier 22½, Turners 1½ — It was a duel in the No. 1 spot between Mikey Corduff and Joey Mosca on Thursday at Cherry Hill Golf Course in Amherst.

Both golfers shot a 40 on the day, though Corduff picked up 2½ points for host Frontier. Mosca’s 1½-point total provided the lone points for visiting Turners on the day, as the Red Hawks picked up the victory. 

Kyle Maynard (40), Rowan Blair (43), Aidan Roche (41), Cade Allenby (47) and Cam Skiffington (50) all picked up four points in their matches for Frontier (4-0). 

Vinnie Carme shot a 58 for Turners (1-3) in the No. 2 spot. 

Pioneer 21, Athol 3 — Jalen McGraw shot a 42, Ethan Quinn finished with a 46 and Jason Quinn scored a 47 to lead the Panthers to a 21-3 win over the Red Raiders on Thursday.

Isaac Dodge had the low score of 51 for the Red Raiders while Emma Bacigalupo shot a 52 and Owen Willhite a 57 in the loss.
