Frost places 16th at New Englands

ORANGE — Mahar’s Hugo Frost earned 16th in the 300 -meter hurdles at the New England Championships, held June 9 in Durham, N.H.

Frost ran the event in 41.92 seconds. He ran in the third heat.

It was the first time Frost ran the event, who usually runs the 400-meter hurdles and holds the Mahar school record in the event with a time of 58.6. Frost earned an invitation to the event after finishing seventh in the All-State meet and one of the top six finishers declined the invitation.

Billy Powers of Winnacunnet, N.H., won the event with a time of 38.67. Marcus Manson of Windsor, Conn., placed second with a time of 38.77. Zach Westman of York, Maine, earned third with a time of 39.22.

Twenty-six athletes ran the event.
