Fall Festival returns to downtown Athol

ATHOL – After being gone for the last three years, the annual Fall Festival is returning to downtown Athol this Saturday.
The event will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sept. 16 and is co-sponsored by the North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce, Athol Downtown Vitality Committee, Downtown Athol 4th Friday Committee and the Athol Cultural Council.
“We’ve all been working to bring back the chamber’s Fall Festival,” said Mary Holtorf, chair of the Downtown Vitality Committee. “This will be the first year we’ve been able to bring the festival back. Main Street will be closed from Island Street to Exchange Street.”
There will be musical entertainment throughout the event. The band Water’s Edge will perform from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and the band Mariachi Mexico Lindo will entertain in front of Los Agaves from noon-3 p.m.
Some Main Street stores will be offering specials and many will have products displayed on the sidewalk. In addition, there will be many vendors on-hand with a wide array of items. The North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce will be holding a raffle for a 12-foot skeleton and tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
Participating stores and vendors who will be part of the Fall Festival include: Tintagels Gate/Flowerland, Déjà Vu, Sweet Cottage Farm, Los Agaves Mexican Restaurant, Athol House of Pizza, Troop 40 Boy Scouts, U.S. Marine Corps, MacMannis Florist and Greenhouse, Brushfeather Artistic Creations, AOTV, Stephanie Onna’s Designs, Unique Sands, Thrifty Kids, Rehtach’s Kish Creations, Love Me Like a Reptiles-Snakes, North Quabbin Masonic Lodge, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Ed’s Dream Dogs, Making Opportunities Count, Leaf Filter, Lisa Sheffield wooden jewelry, Ken’s Legacy, Seven Hills Family Services, Northeast Novelty, Sarah Clarke, PMC, holding a raffle, Athol Recovery Center, The Clown Named Katydid, Ragnarok Tatoos, and Girl Scouts.
