Orange Police Log: Nov. 25

Monday, Nov. 25

7:25 a.m. — Patrol officer stopped motor vehicle on South Main Street and issued a warning for failure to stop for flashing red lights on a school bus.

8:15 a.m. — Officer reporting icy road conditions, one car off the road on grass on Dexter Street, school property. Highway superintendent advised. No damage to vehicle, operator able to get the car out. Sand truck arrived.

10:12 a.m. — Traffic stop, East Main Street for failure to inspect vehicle. Owner was issued a citation.

12:32 p.m. — Party reports their client is missing, Red Brook Lane. She does not drive. Neighbor reported she went outside this morning to eat breakfast. Cruiser dispatched; female was located upstairs in a friend’s apartment.

12:37 p.m. — Report of parking violation at Mahar Middle School parking lot. Parking ticket issued.

1:46 p.m. — Catholic Charities requests welfare check of party, East River Street. Not answering door for her caseworker. Subjects arrived home and were all set.

2:27 p.m. — Officer investigation past assault, South Main Street. Charges pending on a 14-year-old juvenile for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

2:59 p.m. — North Orange Road; party calling 911 because her cell service was not working to advise she works for an insurance company and she accidentally drove over a well and got her tire stuck in it and cannot go back or forth. Transferred call to Athol Police.

5:58 p.m. — Caller reporting party with suicidal thoughts, West River Street. Patient voluntarily transported to Athol Hospital by fire department to speak with crisis services.

6:18 p.m. — Vandalism, East River Street. Caller reporting he can hear some kids over in the dugout of the baseball field using spray paint cans and can see flames. No description; can hear at least two of them. Officer detained three individuals inside the dugout with one spray painting the bench with gold paint. A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested on charges of tagging property, person under 21 possessing liquor, and trespassing. An 18-year old of East Main Street, Orange, will be summonsed to court on a charge of trespassing.

6:45 p.m. — Walk-in to see officer regarding return of his father’s cell phone. Property slip completed and phone returned.

8:16 p.m. — Citation issued to operator stopped on Airport Street for speeding.

8:57 p.m. — Noise complaint, East Main Street. Blaring music, an on-going issue that is currently happening. Upon arrival officer found subject outside with friends. No music could be heard playing.

11:04 p.m. — Athol police advise they have a suicidal male party on their non-emergency line, Daniel Shays Highway. Athol first believed the party lived in Athol, but he lives in Orange. Athol advises caller was not suicidal at the beginning of the call, but stated he didn’t want to wake up in the morning.

Tuesday, Nov. 26

5:03 a.m. — Fire alarm, Red Brook Lane. Caller states fire alarm going off in apartment. States an elderly female lives there but is not answering the door. No smells or flames/smoke. While on the line with the party the alarm stopped sounding. Found to be accidental, caused by the cat.
