HAMPSHIRE, FRANKLIN, WORCESTER DISTRICT — Massachusetts State Sen. Jo Comerford (D - Northampton) announced her 2022 Library Tour. The tour will include visits to libraries in Athol, New Salem, Petersham, and Winchendon running from June 8 to Sept. 14. The full details of each visit are available on Sen. Comerford’s website at

This tour is a continuation of Sen. Comerford’s first library tour, which began in 2019, but ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic after visiting 13 libraries. The 2019-2020 library tour included visits to libraries in Orange, Royalston, Warwick and Wendell, where Comerford said she heard from scores of constituents about everything from public education to climate change to Route 2 rail to broadband. Comerford’s 2022 Library Tour will feature some visits to libraries in towns that Sen. Comerford’s district will expand into in the redistricting process, should she be reelected.

Comerford said this tour will celebrate the vibrancy of our region’s libraries and the critical role they play in our communities as gathering places, resources and so much more. Each visit will include opportunities for constituents to hear about Sen. Comerford’s legislative work, ask questions, and join in conversation about pressing issues affecting their communities.

Area libraries include:

■Wednesday, Aug. 24, 6 to 7 p.m. Beals Memorial Library, 50 Pleasant St., Winchendon
