Circle of Song Holiday Concert Dec. 21

BARRE — On Friday, Dec. 21, Circle of Song will perform a holiday concert at the Barre Town Hall, in the center of Barre at 7 p.m. COS is celebrating its 17th Christmas season.       

Circle of Song will perform a wide range of choral music conducted by Nancy Afonso and Julie Rawson.

Minnie Isgro will be performing a soprano solo in “Mary Had a Baby,” and Mark Doyle will be performing a tenor solo in “There is a Balm in Gilead.”

This St. Helena Island Spiritual is in the program with another Spiritual, “Poor Man Three Christmas carols will be included with a sing along of “What Child is This” at the end of the evening. The concert is rounded out with “Oseh Shalom,” a Jewish prayer for peace and “Psallite,” a quick paced liturgical song written in 1609.  

Refreshments will be served at the close of the concert, which is free; all donations are welcome.   

Circle of Song invites new members to join. Membership starts at $40/year, $25 for students. Current chorus members vary in age and experience, from beginning musicians to professionals in the field. All are welcome. Rehearsals start up again in early 2019.
