Workshop: ‘Thinking like a watershed’

The Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust and North Quabbin Energy present, “Thinking Like a Watershed: Community-Scale Climate Adaptation and Resilience in the North Quabbin,” a virtual workshop set for Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Sept. 23: Flu clinic at the Senior Center

ATHOL — The Athol Council on Aging will sponsor a Flu Clinic on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Athol Senior Center located in Lord Pond Plaza. The clinic will be administered by WalGreens and supported by the local board of health. All safety protocols will be in place including masks, hand sanitation and social distancing. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring all health insurance cards with you to the clinic. Registration is required by calling the Athol Council on Aging Council office at 978-249-8986.

WENDELL — The Town of Wendell is hosting a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Community Resilience Building Workshop on Wendell Town Common on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. Workshop participants will help define Wendell’s greatest vulnerabilities to climate change, as well as existing community strengths. The workshop will culminate in a list of actions for Wendell that can help improve the resiliency of town infrastructure, residents, and the environment. Sept. 28: Library virtual Book Discussion of ‘Educated’

ATHOL — A virtual meeting of Booked for Lunch, the noontime book club at the Athol Public Library, will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, at noon using Zoom. The September selection is “Educated,” by Tara Westover. The flexible Zoom platform allows participants to join using a computer, tablet, smartphone, or even a landline. Registration is required. Worcester Art Museum will reopen Oct. 7

WORCESTER — The Worcester Art Museum, which has been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic since March 13, announced today that it will reopen to the public on Wednesday, Oct. 7. In addition to a series of special exhibitions and presentations, the Museum also announced that several free virtual programs, including Zip Zoom Tours, Arms and Armor Presentations, a Fall Community Day, and Master Series Third Thursday Art Talk, will be held throughout the fall. Oct. 15: Tully Mountain Habitat Site Walk

ORANGE — Thursday, Oct. 15, at 4 p.m.: Tully Mountain WMA Habitat Site Walk. The public is invited to hear from habitat specialists and to view habitat restoration in action on MassWildlife lands. This walk will focus on young forest habitat. Meet off Mountain Road. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes for walking. Participants will be asked to wear face masks at all times and keep 6 feet away from other attendees. MassWildlife is conducting a whole series of walks this fall at other sites as well.
