Day 5 of the Massachusetts shotgun deer hunting season saw 38 deer reported Friday at Franklin County checking stations.

New Salem’s Robert Lanagan reported the largest deer on Friday, checking a 187-pound, eight-point buck at Flagg’s Bait & Tackle in Orange.
