Bulletin Board: Hannah Gilbert leads Valley Storm 14U softball to victory

Hannah Gilbert cracked four hits and three RBI to lead the Valley Storm 14U squad to an 18-1 victory over NWS Elite in the Mid Summer Storm Tournament on Friday. 

Anna Bucala had a pair of hits and RBIs in the victory. Skyler Steele had two hits and batted in a run while Amelia Pierce had a hit and three RBIS, Bri Lynch had a hit and two RBIs, Margarette Howland smacked a hit and an RBI, Maggie Potter and Delaney Fifield hit safely and Maggie Fay had an RBI for Valley Storm. 

Lynch picked up the win in the circle, striking out seven in four innings. 

Franklin County League

Margarette Howland and Alivia Patch each smacked two hits and three RBIs to lead the Defenders to a 14-8 win over the Magic in a Franklin County Summer Softball League game on Thursday. 

Meghan Collins had two hits and an RBI in the win, with Lucia Winters adding a hit and an RBI. Maggie Fay and Shayla Freeland each hit safely and Madison Dietz picked up the win on the mound and drove in a pair of runs at the plate. 

Lauren Ross hit a home run and struck out four on the mound for the Magic. Lilly Ross had a pair of hits and RBIs, Maggie Potter had a hit and drove in a run, Maddie Lamorie cracked a double, Cassidi Mushenski and Bianca Robinson hit safely and Addison Rotkiewicz had an RBI in the loss. 


Brady Burch potted a pair of goals while Payton Sladeski also found the back of the net to lead Frontier to a 3-1 victory over Belchertown on Friday in a Pioneer Valley Summer Soccer League game. 

Niko Lorantos had an assist in the win. 


Junior Legion

Tyler Podolski tossed 5⅓  hitless innings to go along with nine strikeouts as the Greenfield Post 81 Junior Legion team defeated Westfield, 6-4, on Thursday. 

Cayden Lehtomaki struck out two in relief for Post 81. Jason Quinn had two hits and three RBIs in the win, with Hugh Cyhowski adding a pair of hits and RBIs. Deven Dubie, Ethan Quinn and Jackson Campbell each had two hits. 

Babe Ruth

Ryder Leary and Hayden Avard each had a hit and an RBI to help lead Post 5 to a 12-11 victory over Parody in a Franklin County Babe Ruth contest on Thursday. 

Gordy Kahill and Cody Hescock both had a hit in the win while Cooper LaFlam and Ryder Butynski each had an RBI for Post 5. John Winter had four strikeouts in the win and Avard had t hree. 

Luca Lyons recorded three hits and an RBI for Parody, with Aidan Heffernan hitting a double, a single and three RBIs. Thomas Unkles had two hits including a double and an RBI, Will Ainsworth had a pair of hits, Teagan Dexter had two RBIs and Dylen Richardson batted home a run in the loss.
