Athol Police Log: Dec. 29-30, 2022

Wednesday, Dec. 29

12:04 a.m. – Pleasant Street caller reported that someone had broken into his vehicle. Reporting party stated that he was last with his vehicle around 5:45 p.m. and had noticed a unique kind of water bottle was missing at around 11:30 p.m., and just wanted to make others in the area aware of the incident.

12:15 a.m. – 2:06 a.m. – Multiple business/security checks all over town. No issues.

5:41 a.m. – Police assisted an Exchange Street area caller who reported their vehicle was stuck.

5:05 p.m. – Lobby walk-in from Brookside Road area reported someone had apparently gone through her vehicle last night.

5:10 p.m. – 911 call from Tower Road area reporting a vehicle had tried to run them off the road. Reporting party followed the vehicle and watched a female go into the store. Police checked the area but vehicle was gone on arrival.

5:59 p.m. – Lobby walk-in requested assistance with a No Trespass issue. It was explained to the female party she needed to contact the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office to get assistance with the trespass order she had been served.

6:26 p.m. – Lobby walk-in. Postal worker turned in a couple wallets and ID that were found. Returned to owner(s).

10:16 p.m. – Custodian of a Main Street property reported several windows on the back side of the building had spray paint on them.

11:57 p.m. – Police investigated an alarm at a Market Drive business. A cleaning crew was on the scene, and the store manger confirmed that they were supposed to be there.

Thursday, Dec. 30

12:04 to 1:04 a.m. – Various property and business security checks. No issues.

1:29 a.m. – Traffic stop at Sanders Street with an operator with a suspended license. Vehicle operator to be summoned for operating a vehicle after license suspension.

7:14 to 9:11 a.m. – Traffic enforcement at various locations around town resulted in four speeding warnings, one red light violation, one for defective equipment and one for failure to inspect.

9:41 a.m. – Police provided assistance with a disturbance at Metropolitan Court with an out of control male that was possibly intoxicated.

10:35 a.m. – Cottage Street caller reported their neighbor was arguing with them about their trash pickup. Altercation was not physical, but a male party could be heard yelling in the background. Police spoke with all involved parties and explained that trash was a landlord issue. Reporting party stated that the neighbors are harassing them. Name calling reported on both sides. All advised of Harassment Protection Order options. Advised all parties to stay away from one another.

12:17 p.m. – Pinedale Avenue caller reported that someone had hit his wall and left the scene approximately 20 minutes earlier. No description could be provided.

2:08 p.m. – Officer flagged down in the Daniel Shays Highway area by a homeowner regarding their vehicle had appeared to be broken into the previous night. Reporting party stated that they had found items from the glove box on the seat, but nothing was taken. A sweatshirt that was not theirs had been left on top of the vehicle.

9:09 p.m. – Caller from Old Keene Road area reported that her soon to be ex husband had changed all the locks while she was gone, and he knew she was still moving stuff out of the residence including that night to get her dog. Another call at 10:14 p.m. was received and officers at the scene advised both parties to contact their lawyers.
