Local residents receive degrees from Worcester Polytechnic

WORCESTER — Late this spring, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) celebrated the Class of 2020 with a socially distanced commencement season in place of its traditional 152nd Commencement exercises. Among the graduates were the following local students:

■Lindsey Hamlett of Athol was awarded a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering with distinction.

■Zachary Bergquist of Athol was awarded a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering with distinction.

■Lucio Nicoletti of Petersham was awarded a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

■Marcello Nicoletti of Petersham was awarded a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

Bridgewater State U. names Athol-area students to Dean’s List

BRIDGEWATER — The following area residents were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Bridgewater State University:

Athol:

Eric Bissonnette and Allyn Osborne

Orange:

Kiersten Samalis

Madeleine Villagomez Named to President’s List

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Madeleine Villagomez of Phillipston was named to the President’s List by Dr. Troy Shoemaker, president of Pensacola Christian College, for academic achievement during the 2020 spring semester.

Springfield College recognizes graduates

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield College recognizes 2020 graduates from the North Quabbin area:

■Margaret Bramhall of Orange has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Springfield College for studies completed in 2020.

■Caitlin Lacasse of Orange has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science/Pre-physician Assistant from Springfield College for studies completed in 2020.

■Ryan Clark of Petersham has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Springfield College for studies completed in 2020.

Local resident earns degree from Clark University

WORCESTER — The following local resident received a degree from Clark University on Sunday, May 24.

■Tobey Rose Chase, of Royalston graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Global Environmental Studies.
