Athol Police Log: Jan. 2 to Jan. 10, 2023

Monday, January 2

11:46 p.m. – Male party came in to the station lobby and laid down in the interview room. Police questioned him, and he asked police permission to get out of the cold.

Tuesday, January 3

12:55 a.m. – Police took necessary action to address a disturbance at Sanders Street. Caller reported that a female party had entered his house and was refusing to leave.

Wednesday, January 4

6:57 p.m. – Caller from Main Street reported a male party, who appeared to be intoxicated, who was screaming at everyone, slamming doors and causing a disturbance. Parties were advised to stay away from each other and stop slamming doors.

8:10 p.m. – Caller from Unity Street reported needing to check the fuse box for ongoing issue with the neighbor. Officer spoke with both downstairs and upstairs tenants. Reporting party stated he has a HARPO against him from the downstairs neighbor but he believed the neighbor is shutting the power off. Officer found no evidence of such, but the wiring in the basement was cut and exposed. Advised that he would contact the building inspector and reporting party to contact the landlord regarding consistent power outage.

9:23 p.m. – Police responded to a disturbance call from Main Street. Party reported there was a female in their residence threatening people, just attacked her husband and threatened to stab him, but did not show any weapon. Male party was advised he can take out charges at ODC for assault and battery.

Thursday, January 5

8:41 a.m. – Exchange Street dental practice reported vandalism.

10:38 a.m. – Main Street caller reported a female took his vehicle while he was inside AMH without permission. BOLO canceled; contact with female party was made.

7:08 p.m. – Union Street caller reported an apparently intoxicated male party was causing issues in their apartment and they wanted him removed. Male party was located and highly intoxicated . When subject was advised he would be placed into protective custody, he became resistant and then assaultive. Transported to AMH.

8:08 p.m. – Unity Avenue caller reported a possible HARPO violation. Reporting party filled out statements. Officer will be taking out charge for violation.

Friday, January 6

6:57 p.m. – Veteran affairs in Leeds called in for a male party in Athol who was in a motor vehicle accident but had since gone home and was bleeding from the head. Transported to the hospital.

9:25 p.m. – Police investigated a call from Leonard Street for assistance with a mentally disabled male party who was throwing things.

Saturday, January 7

5:13 p.m. – Police responded to a disturbance call at North Orange Road for a 21 year old out of control.

8:45 p.m. – Parties from North Orange Road called in follow up to their son calling the house and threatening the mother. Police contacted E.R, and they will contact us if party is released and will address the phone issue.

11:06 p.m. – Hospital reported a male party had left on foot and he still had his IV in. Police spoke with the ER Doctor who requested, if possible, we could just come to the conclusion that subject did not need further medical attention. Police made contact and all appeared in order with subject.

Tuesday, January 10

3:54 p.m. – Station lobby walk-in reported a letter that they had received from a man whose children are in their foster care, and they aren’t supposed to know where they live. The letter had pictures and, according to the reporting party, threats. Police advised them to contact E911 if the male party arrives at the property, and court options were also provided.
