Athol Police Log: Oct. 1-6, 2021

Friday, Oct. 1

10:55 a.m. – Police are investigating a check fraud incident reported by a lobby walk-in.

11:27 a.m. – Lombard Avenue caller reported their four marijuana plants had been stolen.

3:13 p.m. – King Road caller reported the person two houses down on the same side of the road was shooting firearms from his house, and was worried about her pets. Male party stated he had permission from the neighbor. He was advised by police to stop for the night.

6:32 p.m. – Lobby walk-in stated he was on the phone with an intoxicated male party who was, at the time, in the library parking lot, who stated he was going to harm himself. Police made contact with the man, who was visibly upset and he voluntarily went to the hospital.

6:45 p.m. – Officer assisted with a situation at a football game where an apparently intoxicated individual was making a scene. Follow up was done to assure that the individual and their child were going to be driven home by family members or friends.

7:11 p.m. – Police assisted AMH (Athol Memorial Hospital) staff with a patient who was being belligerent and verbally aggressive towards staff.

8:06 p.m. – Cottage Street caller reported multiple people walking around and looking into other people’s houses and vehicles (description provided). Gone upon police arrival.

Saturday, Oct. 2

3:09 p.m. – Lobby walk-in to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant.

10:14 p.m. – Caller reported a female was sending harassing text messages, and was harassing him and his mother as they were leaving the homecoming dance. The reporting party stated that there is a No Contact Order in effect. Advised by police that the No Contact Order was through the school, and to speak with them on Monday during school hours.

Sunday, Oct. 3

1:52 p.m. – An altercation reported in the Pine and South Street area resulted in the police requesting EMS (Emergency Medical Service) for treatment of a minor injury. Incident is under investigation.

Tuesday, Oct. 5

11:44 p.m. – Police were able to execute an emergency 209A (Restraining Order) for the requesting party in the Exchange Street area.

Wednesday, Oct. 6

12:55 p.m. – Caller from Hampstead Place requested an ambulance for a client that was possibly seizing due to alcohol withdrawal. Transported to the hospital.

2:12 p.m. – Reservoir Drive caller reported at Hobby Lobby that day a vehicle hit a cart that then hit her vehicle. The other vehicle did not stay, but good samaritan got the license plate. Caller’s insurance company advised her to contact PD. Incident under investigation.

2:28 p.m. – Two subjects in the lobby reported that their daughter had been missing for approximately one week. Necessary action taken.

3:54 p.m. – Main Street caller reported that believed that their mother’s Chevy Trailblazer had been struck, (visible damage/scratches) possibly sometime earlier in the day. But no information was left by other vehicle operator.

4:11 p.m. – Caller from Riverbend Street reported six teenagers were over at the old Riverbend School area breaking windows. Gone upon police arrival.
