Athol Police Log: Nov. 11-13, 2020

Wednesday, Nov. 11

5:33 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, West Royalston Road. Citation issued for speeding.

6:42 a.m. — Party requesting to speak to an officer regarding harassment, Pleasant Street. Officer spoke with party concerning a subject that continues to harass him. Stated that it has turned physical at this point. Stated that subject got up in his face and shoved him. Officer advised party of his rights and advised him to possibly consider obtaining a harassment order at the Courthouse.

10:44 a.m. — Caller reporting packages stolen from her doorstep, Crescent Street. Reporting party reporting a delivery she received on Oct. 27 was taken from the area of her front door.

2:59 p.m. — Male party wanting to speak to an officer regarding his neighbor harassing him, Pinedale Avenue.

3:09 p.m. — Caller requesting police for her mom who is verbally yelling at her and trying to make entry into a room that she locked herself in, Ridge Avenue. Officers off on Freedom Street for a welfare check on a juvenile. Spoke with juvenile female. Peace restored.

3:31 p.m. — Caller would like to turn in two firearms and some ammunition, Dinsmore Street. He states he is unable to use them and has no other method to dispose of them. Officer secured the items.

3:41 p.m. — Caller reporting a female party who is sitting on the guardrail and possibly intoxicated, South Main Street. Officer provided courtesy transport.

4:46 p.m. — Caller reporting someone opened up a tax return in his name, Cooke Place. Reporting party stated she spoke with IRS regarding her son’s stimulus check and they told her someone had filed a tax return in her son’s name. Reporting party has been working with IRS and FTC regarding the misuse of her son’s SSN and was advised to file a report with the police department as well.

4:51 p.m. — Party in lobby to drop off a box of ammunition, Exchange Street.

5:17 p.m. — 911 caller reporting a disabled motor vehicle, Templeton Road and Orchard Street. Reporting party hit a curb turning out of Wendy’s and popped two tires. Vehicle towed back to residence by Dale’s and operator picked up by wife.

6:17 p.m. — 911 caller reporting party hit by a vehicle, Main Street. A group of subjects ran across unlit roadway while not in crosswalk. One subject wearing dark clothing was struck. While on scene subjects that had not been struck continually walked into traffic without looking nor waiting for vehicles to stop. Officer assisted with traffic and crowd control.

8:52 p.m. — Caller reporting around 5:50 p.m. four black males came to her house asking if there was a young girl there, Estabrook Street. When told she wasn’t they left but reporting party found it suspicious. Advised to call if it happens again and officers will check the area.

9:10 p.m. — Caller would like to advise the police that her husband hasn’t returned home, Prospect Street. Reporting party stated that her husband left with another male party around 2:30 a.m. on 11/11/20. Reporting party stated that he has done this before. Information taken, officers will be on the lookout.

10:01 p.m. — Caller reporting a male party is yelling “someone raped me” outside of the apartment building, Main Street. Officer speaking with female party. Spoke with both parties. Male party stated he would go home for the evening and if he wants to speak with officers further, he would contact them tomorrow. Female party checked okay. Given options.

10:05 p.m. — Caller reporting her friend is walking around with a gun to his head, Exchange Street. Phone was pinged. Manchester, N.H. PD was notified. They advised they already received the call and pinged the phone.

Thursday, Nov. 12

2:42 a.m. — 911 call for a 67-year-old female with difficulty breathing and COPD, Goddard Street. Officer assisted AFD with the patient. Transported to hospital.

10 a.m. — Female party calling to speak with an officer regarding her neighbor, Intervale Avenue. Ongoing issue. Reporting party states that today he drove by on the street slowly looking towards her house. Advised of HPO process.

10:15 a.m. — Male party looking to speak with an officer regarding going door to door asking for camera footage, Exchange Street.

10:34 a.m. — ServiceNet is calling for a welfare check on one of their clients, Sanders Street. Negative contact at Athol Hospital.

10:54 a.m. — Subject into the station to speak to an officer about a fraud, West Royalston Road.

11:08 a.m. — Female subject in the lobby to speak with an officer regarding a scam, Bearsden Road. Party reporting she is victim to statewide unemployment claim scam. Advised of steps to take and how to report incident on site.

11:31 a.m. — Caller looking to speak with an officer regarding her child’s father, Drury Avenue.

12:24 p.m. — Caller reporting her ex-girlfriend is cutting herself with nail clipper, Essex Street. Subject willingly wanted to see a counselor and perhaps a med change. Officer transported female to Athol Hospital.

12:36 p.m. — Catholic Charities requesting a welfare check on an individual that they cannot get in contact with, Shore Drive. Attempted to call the individual, no answer. Subject was awoken from a sleep and advised his phone cannot make/receive long distance calls.

12:39 p.m. — Caller would like to speak to an officer about an issue she is having with a family member, Wendell Street.

1:05 p.m. — Athol DPW is reporting a car on the grass of Fish Park that is tearing up the area, Maple and Walnut streets. Officer is on scene, negative contact with any vehicle. Officer spoke with three subjects doing construction nearby who did not see this occurring.

Thursday, Nov. 12

2:11 p.m. — Caller would like to speak to an officer about being threatened, Chestnut Street.

3:46 p.m. — 911 call fro the fire alarm going off, Shore Drive.

4:11 p.m. — Caller requesting to speak with officers regarding her brother-in-law and his girlfriend going onto their property and verbally yelling at her, Rich Place.

4:50 p.m. — Caller reporting the neighbor is sending them videos from her Ring doorbell of the family, Central Street. Both parties advised to leave each other alone. Given court options.

6:10 p.m. — Officer requesting assistance to do a welfare check on a female party who hasn’t answered any phone calls and vehicle is in the driveway, Silver Lake Street. Checked residence and surrounding area, subject was located.

6:11 p.m. — 911 caller reporting that he was delivering a pizza and while parked across the street a male party came out yelling and hit his vehicle with his hand, Ridge Avenue. Spoke with reporting party, wanted it on record. No damage to the vehicle.

6:54 p.m. — Caller would like to report that her vehicle was tampered with while she was in the store, Tower Road. Spoke with female party and was advised she could not prove it was her neighbor that opened her car. Officers will check video at Market Basket.

7:23 p.m. — 911 caller reporting his roommate is threatening him, Metropolitan Court. Verbal disagreement between roommates. Parties stated they would be fine for the night. Advised of options.

8:14 p.m. — 911 caller reporting there is a male and female on their property that are not supposed to be there, Silver Lake Street. Parties had left prior to officer’s arrival. Spoke with reporting party and father; parties were moving belongings into the camp. Subjects left personal items and other items behind. Personal items secured for identification purposes, all additional items were disposed of.

Friday, Nov. 13

1:05 a.m. — 911 call for a 65-year-old male who collapsed, possible diabetic issue, Petersham Road. Alert and conscious before disconnecting. Assisted AFD. Transported to hospital.

3:41 a.m. — Male party in the lobby requesting to go to the ER for the night, Exchange Street. Male party stated he’s homeless and has asthma. Male party needed a ride to Athol Hospital to be evaluated. Officer provided courtesy transport.

11:31 p.m. — Alarm activation, Main Street.
