Athol Police Log: May 28-31, 2022

Saturday, May 28

2:52 p.m. – Chestnut Street caller reported all their silverware had been stolen. The padlock had been moved from the back door and that is how they appear to have gotten in.

11:38 p.m. – Employee from Freedom Street establishment reported a barefoot female party knocking over trash cans. Gone on arrival.

Sunday, May 29

1:37 a.m. – Police responded to a Prospect Street noise complaint. Homeowners were advised of the complaint, and agreed to turn the music down and quiet down the rest of the night.

4:05 a.m. – Patrol Officer in the Main Street and Bearsden Road area came upon two individuals who were having a verbal argument over their relationship. Both parties admitted to drinking, but did not appear impaired. A third party arrived and walked home with them for the night.

7:33 p.m. – Lobby walk-in about Silver Lake Beach area report of a black “jacked up” Jeep with a tail light out had been driving erratically in the cemetery, and somehow was able to get past the gate from the cemetery to the beach.

7:49 p.m. – Report from Freedom Street caller of a black four-door truck driving fast and erratically headed towards South Street. Gone on arrival. Later in the shift Police spoke to parties, and advised them of the complaint.

11:06 p.m. – Several calls from Freedom Street about possible illegal substances incident(s). Multiple vehicles were in the parking lot that kept pulling up to what appeared to be a white Nissan. The vehicle was not there when the Officers arrived.

Monday, May 30

5:08 p.m. – Police followed up on a complaint of five to six motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic on Daniel Shays Highway. Checked Daniel Shays to the town line, unable to locate.

Tuesday, May 31

7:17 a.m. – Traffic stop at Daniel Shays Highway and Patrick Avenue. Operator summonsed for operating after suspension and speeding (50 mph in 30 mph zone).

9:41 a.m. – Report from Fredette Street and Ernst Avenue of two suspicious vehicles, and a party that appeared to have come out of the woods from private property. Police investigated and found that the party had gone to access his trunk, and was not in the woods. Party was waiting in the shade for his employer to show up for a job in the area.
