Athol Police Log: June 8-11, 2021

Tuesday, June 8

3 to 9:16 p.m. – Ten LTC’s (License to Carry Firearms) were picked up at APD.

4:18 p.m. – Hapgood Street caller reported possible larceny situation and missing purse with money in it.

4:26 p.m. – Caller from Ridge Avenue area reported a loud disturbance coming from a neighbors house. Patrol officer in area assisted.

5:42 p.m. – Batchelder Road caller requested assistance with two vehicles, one with N.H. plates, driving through their driveway several times within the hour. Vehicles were gone on arrival.

6:18 p.m. – Ambulance requested for Reservoir Drive area for a 24-year-old party with chest and abdomen pain. Transported to hospital.

6:48 p.m. – Patrol officer initiated follow-up with Chestnut Hill Avenue resident for a town by-law violation (unregistered vehicles) which resulted in negative contact.

7:08 to 7:15 p.m. – Two calls reported a motor vehicle accident on Route 2 at Mile Marker 74 involving two vehicles and requiring two ambulances.

7:33 p.m. – Pequoig Avenue/Exchange Street traffic stop for stop sign violation.

7:52 p.m. – Highland Avenue area caller reported a male party, that previously had a connection with a family member, is driving around the neighborhood.

8:36 p.m. – Wallingford Avenue area caller requested to speak to an officer about an alleged gun threat that was made at AHS. Officer spoke with reporting party, and also SRO (School Resource Officer) was advised.

8:58 p.m. – Lobby walk-in, who requested assistance with a trespass notice, was advised it needed to be pursued through Orange District Court.

9:06 p.m. – Lobby walk-in for a public records request form.

9:33 p.m. – Main Street caller requested assistance with harassing texts. Advised to block number and/or put phone on do not disturb mode. Officer called number from which harassing calls originated and left message.

Wednesday, June 9

8:30 to 9:01 a.m. – Traffic Enforcement detail resulted in two speeding violations on Pleasant Street.

9:58 a.m. – Church Street caller reported a dog in a vehicle with all the windows rolled up. Advised ACO (Animal Control Officer).

10:29 a.m. – A hit and run at Daniel Shays Highway and Fielding Way was reported. Officer was able to speak to a witness, and an accident report was filed.

12:27 p.m. – Lobby walk-in for public records request form.

1:03 p.m. – Brookside Road store manager reported a customer that tried to pay with a fake $20 bill.

1:54 p.m. – Main Street traffic detail assistance with buses pulling out.

Thursday, June 10

1:37 a.m. – Multiple calls from the Exchange Street area for an apparently intoxicated individual that appeared to be trying to leave on their motorcycle. Keys were obtained; individual was given a ride home and vehicle left in the parking spot.

3:22 a.m. – While working in their garage, a Goodale Street caller reported hearing an individual walk past making strange noises who then took off into a neighbor’s yard. Officer spoke with the reporting party, but were unable to locate any such individual.

7:57 a.m. – A Main Street motor vehicle accident was reported. No injuries/fluids reported. Minor damage noted.

10:23 a.m. – Chestnut Hill Avenue area caller reported needing assistance with an unattended death of a family member. Medical Examiner contacted.

12:56 p.m. – Old Keene Road caller reported a dirt biker with no helmet was riding around in the area. Negative contact made.

2:09 p.m. – Pequoig Avenue area caller reported hearing a group of people walking through the yard screaming they are considering beating up someone. Officer unable to make contact.

3:12 p.m. – Resevoir Drive area caller requested assistance with the discovery of what they believe to be a bag of drugs.

3:17 p.m. – South Athol Road resident requested assistance with “ex” showing up at their work and bothering them. Advised of no trespass options for business.

4:07 p.m. – Traffic enforcement detail Batchelder Road area.

4:23 p.m. – Caller reported hearing a possible fight in the Silver Lake Street area. Entire cemetery and Silver Lake area checked; nothing found.

5:36 p.m. – Main and Liberty Street traffic stop revealed operator had an expired Operator License Number.

8:05 p.m. – Officer mediated Cottage Street disturbance over vehicle ownership and advised it was a civil matter.

9:09 p.m. – Silver Lake Beach area security detail check. No issues found.

10:20 p.m. – Officer mediated Chestnut Street area noise complaint with no issues.

Friday, June 11

6:05 a.m. – Traffic enforcement stop on Pleasant Street for speed.
