Athol Police Log: June 16, 2020

Tuesday, June 16

12:20 a.m. — Officer out with a vehicle in front of Dollar Tree, Tower Road. All was well.

12:39 a.m. — Officer out with vehicle, New Athol Road. Subject sent on way.

2:30 a.m. — 911 call from alarm company calling for a burglar alarm, South Street. Negative contact for key holders.

2:58 a.m. — State Police calling to report an open door in the area, Main Street. Found rear door ajar. Checked inside and all was well. Secured door without issue.

3:29 a.m. — Officer out with a vehicle that has damage, Exchange Street. All was well, no issues. Vehicle came back registered. Another officer dealt with on a previous call for service.

5:37 a.m. — Caller reporting her neighbors have been on their front porch making noise since 4 a.m., J Street. Subjects on porch, advised of complaint and sent back inside.

6:27 a.m. — Caller reporting a raccoon in his office, Harrison Street. Advised him to call back after 7 a.m. when the ACO is on. Message left at the pound and officer was advised.

8:25 a.m. — Report of a motor vehicle accident, Brookside Road. Car versus deer.

11:02 a.m. — Report of a motor vehicle accident, Exchange Street. Sandra Lee Shaw, Royalston Road, Orange, was backing up the vehicle when she struck the front of the vehicle owned and operated by Walter Lehmann, Crescent Street. Both vehicles were in line at the bank when this occurred. Lehmann did activate his horn and Shaw failed to hear it due to noise within her vehicle. Shaw was warned for failure to use care when backing.

11:13 a.m. — Subject into the station to speak to an officer about someone who is changing his mailing address, Pequoig Avenue. Subject believes downstairs neighbor told mail worker he moved out and he was not receiving mail. Subject reported the matter to the Post Office and advised he does in fact still reside there.

11:30 a.m. — Complaint of a barking dog, Brattle Street.

11:45 a.m. — Caller reporting the neighbor threw a rock at their car, Brattle Street. Neighbor states he threw an egg at reporting party’s car out of continued frustration believing reporting party has been throwing eggs at his house, barking dogs, etc. No damage or evidence of egg on or around car. Advised all parties to stay away from one another.

12:30 p.m. — Officer is attempting to serve a Section 12, Shore Drive. Party transported to Athol Hospital under a Section 12 issued by CSO. Officer en route to Athol Hospital.

1:11 p.m. — Subject into the station to report someone following him, High Knob Road.

1:42 p.m. — Caller reporting a female party possibly injured after jumping out of a truck, Crescent Street. Involved party states she willingly exited the truck after a verbal argument and denied needing medical attention. Officer will be transporting female party to residence.

2:18 p.m. — Manager looking to speak with an officer regarding possible drug violation, Grove Street.

3:19 p.m. — Party in the lobby requesting to speak to an officer about her ex who has her son but she has full custody of him, Prospect Street. He took the child when she was in the hospital. Reporting party states her child’s father picked him up fro his grandfather’s house with OPD on Thursday, June 11. He has not heard from either since then.

4:35 p.m. — Officer spoke with male outside about his missing phone, Exchange Street.

4:59 p.m. — 911 call for a 14-year-old female who fell and hurt her ankle, South Athol Road and Pike Street. Officer made contact with mom, she will be meeting them at the hospital. Transported to hospital.

7:00 p.m. — FD and Mass EPO requesting BOLO for possible suspect vehicle, West Royalston Road. White Ford pickup with three kayaks in the back. State Police trooper has vehicle stopped on Petersham Road.

7:57 p.m. — Caller reporting that their neighbor is intoxicated and making comments to them, Glen Street. Reporting party wants an officer to speak with them. Spoke with neighbor and her son. Advised to leave reporting party and family alone.

9:14 p.m. — Noise complaint of fireworks, Fish Street.

9:40 p.m. — Walk-in for information regarding fire on Tully, Exchange Street.

9:42 p.m. — Caller requesting welfare check on his son, Pleasant Street. Requested PD drive by and see if everything is quiet. Officer responding.
