Athol Police Log: July 21, 2020

Tuesday, July 21

7:26 a.m. — 911 callers reporting a two-car motor vehicle accident, South Athol Road and Tunnel Street. Driver involved called the station to report the other vehicle involved took off down Sanders Street at a high speed. Officer requesting tow. Dale’s on scene. Operator was transported to Athol Hospital by AFD. Officer located other vehicle involved as described by witness with matching damage and glass on the hood from the other vehicle. Operator of that vehicle was located inside Wendell Street residence hiding under a bed and was issued citations for the incident. Officer requesting tow for second vehicle. Jim’s on scene. Party will be summoned.

8:31 a.m. — Board of Health reporting a possible squatter, Glendale Avenue. Per officer, a door is open. Units will be making entry. Made entry through an unlocked door. Residence searched with no one located inside.

9:13 a.m. — Officer off with broken exterior windows, South Street. Smashed window on the east side of the building that appears new. Building inspector advised.

9:35 a.m. — Male party in the lobby looking to speak with an officer regarding a threat that was made towards him, Main Street. Party reported the same issue to the 3-11 shift yesterday. Party advised it was most likely a scam and to block subject calling.

9:42 a.m. — Harassment, Wilder Street.

9:42 a.m. — Caller looking to speak with an officer regarding her husband’s belongings, Pequoig Avenue.

12:44 p.m. — Officer transporting a citizen to residence, Crescent Street. Building manager allowed tenant inside apartment and no one was found within. All was well.

1:12 p.m. — Caller would like to speak to an officer regarding stolen property, Orange Street. Female states she gave he white Nike’s to ex who was going to trade them for blue Nike’s but has yet to receive them.

1:31 p.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for a 69-year-old female having stroke like symptoms, Chestnut Hill Avenue.

3:01 p.m. — Caller reporting a male party is passed out, Main Street. Party is fine, talking on his phone.

4:08 p.m. — Party calling to speak to an officer in regards to discrimination of a handicapped person, Main Street. Officer is out at location speaking to employees.

4:09 p.m. — Caller reporting two teens throwing a tire into traffic, Main and Crescent streets. Tire located in the travel lane. Witness stated two boys were playing with them and rolling them into traffic. Checked the area, unable to locate. Tire removed from the lane.

4:34 p.m. — Caller reporting fraudulent claim of unemployment using his information, Raymond Place.

5:01 p.m. — Caller requesting to speak to an officer in regards to a party that they want to give a no trespass order to, Freedom Street. Officer spoke with reporting party who stated subject had entered the store in which they have a trespass notice to serve to him. They were unable to serve and the officer retained copy of the order.

5:10 p.m. — DCF requesting officer meet them at location for a possible removal, Ridge Avenue. Assisted DCF, stood by, no problems.

5:22 p.m. — Caller reporting a suspicious male party pacing up and down the sidewalk, Park Street. Checked area, party was gone on arrival.

5:26 p.m. — Caller requesting to speak to officer, Cottage Street. Advised of court options.

7:14 p.m. — Caller reporting roommate out of control and throwing things, Fairview Avenue. Subject is intoxicated and agreed to keep to herself tonight. Reporting party stated she would go to another apartment if things continued tonight.

7:17 p.m. — Party requesting to speak to an officer in regards to a neighbor smoking pot with her 14-year-old daughter, Arthur Avenue. Advised parent of trespass notice options. Incident in question occurred on July 4th weekend and daughter has not been with the parties in question.

7:45 p.m. — Caller reporting her landlord is harassing her, Cottage Street. Officers spoke with all parties. Landlord is trying to kick reporting party out. They agreed to keep to themselves and ignore each other. Both were given court options.

7:48 p.m. — Caller requesting to speak to an officer in regards to the issues she is having with her landlord, Fairview Avenue. Reporting party states she is being poisoned and refused medical attention multiple times because she cannot leave her dog. States everyone living there is harassing her. Officer advising that the party did refuse medical attention six times.

9:38 p.m. — Caller reporting ongoing issues with her landlord, Cottage Street. Neighbor from across the street offered to let reporting party stay with her for a night. Reporting party agreed to it and gathered items.

9:52 p.m. — Caller reporting neighbor from upstairs yelling, Fairview Avenue. Called reporting party who stated subject is still yelling to an unknown person. States she is quiet now, but if things get worse, she will stay at her neighbor’s house and call the police.

10:16 p.m. — Smoke alarm, Cottage Street. Command advising that the panel has been reset.
