Athol Police Log: Feb. 6-8, 2021

Saturday, Feb. 6

2:17 a.m. — Caller reporting male party who she believes is trespassed from business hanging out and looks freezing, Main Street. Officer requesting ambulance for male party possibly asthma attack. Transported to hospital.

12:04 p.m. — Caller requesting to speak to an officer regarding how to section a family member, Silver Lake Street.

1:30 p.m. — 911 caller reporting he is being threatened by four people and he has pulled a knife to show he has one, Freedom Street. Verbal argument between parties over a dog that escalated to all parties meeting up halfway in the street. During the course of the argument the reporting party felt threatened as four subjects approached him and displayed a small knife accompanied with threats. Involved parties to produce written statements for charges to be submitted.

1:53 p.m. — Officer checking on a vehicle, Freedom Street.

3:15 p.m. — Caller reporting neighbor keeps putting snow on his property, Main Street. Issue solved for next storm, advised to keep snow on both sides of the property.

3:33 p.m. — Residential fire alarm, Main Street. Engine 3 confirmed faulty detector.

4:20 p.m. — 911 call for a 70-year-old male who slipped and fell on ice in the cemetery, Silver Lake Street. Ambulance 2 requesting engine for assistance. Transported to hospital.

5:30 p.m. — Male party calling to speak to an officer about his mailbox being damaged, Brickyard Road. Party wanted it logged that his mailbox door was broken off, not sure how it happened, if it was mail carrier or construction company.

5:58 p.m. — State Police reporting they took a call regarding a neighbor complaint, Exchange Street. Officer spoke with reporting party about loud neighbor. All quiet. Reporting party’s neighbor states that they had not heard any loud noise coming from upstairs.

6:14 p.m. — Report of vehicle off the road into a ditch, South Athol Road. Vehicle went off the road and slid into the ditch. Minor scratches on vehicle, under $1,000. Dale’s on scene.

7:31 p.m. — Female reporting her daughter’s child’s father is at the residence and not supposed to be there, Newton Street. He is throwing things at the apartment.

Sunday, Feb. 7

1:49 a.m. — Male party called and stated he feels like his ex-girlfriend is going to have him jumped, Central Street. Male party stated no threats were made, it’s “just a feeling” he has.

2:39 a.m. — ADT reporting a commercial burglar alarm, Tower Road. Building was secure.

5:10 p.m. — Officer out with two vehicles parked in the street creating an issue for DPW plowing, Riverbend Street. Advised of parking issue and overnight parking ban.

6:12 p.m. — Caller reporting four-wheelers riding up and down the road, Chestnut Hill Avenue.

9:46 p.m. — Caller reporting his neighbor is shoveling snow onto his property, Main Street. Advised to call landlord and not to engage with them to limit further confrontation.

10:26 p.m. — Male party reporting his neighbor threatened him, Main Street. Officer speaking with the female involved with the other property. Reporting party advised of HARPO.

Monday, Feb. 8

2:30 a.m. — Registered owner was advised to move both vehicles during the 3-11 shift and did not, Riverbend Street. Dale’s removed both vehicles from the roadway. Registered owner has been cited previously and was advised of the complaint/winter parking ban. Both vehicles were on a narrow street on a dangerous hill.

4:12 a.m. — Caller reporting male party stumbling down the center of the roadway, Main Street. Officer located the male subject, no issues found. Subject wasn’t intoxicated.

3:21 p.m. — Caller reporting that a dark blue truck is driving at a high rate of speed past a school van with the lights on dropping her son off from school, Fish Street. Reporting party requesting extra patrols. Reporting party stated this has been going on for a while with that same vehicle. Attempted to make contact with the registered owner, but vehicle was not at residence.

3:58 p.m. — Female in the lobby looking to speak with officer, Exchange Street. Officer gathered statement forms.

4:30 p.m. — Caller reporting erratic operator that passed her near North Quabbin Family Physicians and then was continuing to brake check the reporting party all down the street, Main Street. Reporting party stated that operator of the vehicle was driving fast and then slamming brakes. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

5:37 p.m. — Caller reporting erratic driver, Main Street. Black Jeep crossing double yellow. Multiple calls regarding this erratic operator. Reporting party stated that vehicle was driving in opposite lane. Officer is out with the vehicle. Per officer, operator blew zeroes on the PBT and there were no signs of impairment.

5:58 p.m. — 911 caller reporting there’s a person laying in a snowbank, Tunnel Street. Male party fell off the wall near the train tracks. PD requested FD to the scene for the male party that was unresponsive. FD requesting life flight be contacted for male party with head injury. Athol Hospital aware of Lifestar landing, officer will be on scene for them landing. Lifestar on the ground.

6:00 p.m. — Assistant ACO in the area looking for a barking dog, Main and Kennebunk streets. Negative contact.

6:27 p.m. — Assistant ACO in the area for a barking dog complaint, Hapgood and Harugari streets.
