Athol Police Log: Dec. 29-31, 2020

Tuesday, Dec. 29

3:13 p.m. — Caller complaining about his neighbor’s loud exhaust, Lombard Avenue. Spoke with male party and he was advised officers have already checked the truck and there appears to be no issue with the loudness of the vehicle. Officers attempted to check back around 9:30 p.m. when reporting party stated it gets turned on. However, officers were on another call at this time.

3:41 p.m. — 911 caller reporting two dogs came to his house with leashes, Vine Street. He has them in the house now. ACO notified.

3:59 p.m. — Female looking to speak to an officer regarding a scam, South Main Street. Advised to contact bank and credit monitoring.

4:16 p.m. — Female reporting her baby’s daddy is abandoning his son and not picking him up, Intervale Avenue. Reporting party wanted it on record that her son’s father is refusing to come pick up his son and that he is “abandoning” him. Advised to contact court.

5:06 p.m. — FD reporting a male party standing in a bad spot in the road, Main and Crescent streets. Gone on arrival.

5:31 p.m. — Report of a male party in dark clothing standing under the stop sign at the intersection and they almost hit him, Main and Crescent streets. Spoke with male party with a homeless sign and advised of the issue. Sent on way.

7 p.m. — 911 caller reporting an outlet that is sparking and no longer is, D Street. Wall and outlet were thermal imaged and there was nothing found. Resident advised to contact an electrician.

7:03 p.m. — 911 caller reporting a 15-year-old male freaking out and spitting and hitting everyone around him, Fish Street. Male party went with dad.

7:37 p.m. — 911 call for a disturbance, School Street. Same issue as previous call, male party out of control, screaming and yelling. Spoke with dad and son. Both stated he was on the phone with his mother arguing.

8:04 p.m. — Caller reporting smoke coming out from the cellar vent, Lenox Street and Lincoln Avenue. Reporting party not on scene. Assisted AFD.

8:45 p.m. — Caller reporting he believes there is drug activity going on, Elizabeth Street. He also stated that his nephew has friends over and he doesn’t want them there. Per officer, all is well and the reporting party has been advised of his court options.

8:59 p.m. — Caller reporting fire alarm going off, Main Street. No report of smoke or fire. Contact made with pastor, he’s going to contact an alarm company in the morning. Assisted AFD.

9:24 p.m. — Burglar alarm, Tunnel Street. Store owner located and information was updated in the file. He was advised that the alarm was going off and to call the alarm company. No issues on scene. All doors secured.

9:36 p.m. — Caller reporting his friend’s stepfather is abusing their dog, Old Keene Road. Reporting party was forwarded to ACO.

Wednesday, Dec. 30

12:07 a.m. — Caller reporting that there is a reflection in her neighbor’s attic window, Silver Lake Street. Reporting party stated she has never noticed it before. Per officer, attic light was left on from earlier. Homeowners are home. All was well.

3:27 p.m. — Subject into the station to speak to an officer about a car that had previously drove into his wall, Hapgood Street.

3:58 p.m. — Officer is assisting APD with a traffic stop, New Athol Road.

5:37 p.m. — Heywood ER calling stating that a patient walked out of the ER with an IV in his arm, Columbian Avenue. Requesting an officer to go to the residence and make sure the IV is out. Officer confirmed that the IV is no longer in the male party’s arm.

5:38 p.m. — 911 caller reporting a silver Honda Civic is “racing” up and down the street, Chestnut Hill Avenue. Officer is parked at the bus company and will be standing by to see if that vehicle can be located. Negative contact.

6:21 p.m. — Caller reporting neighbors are having a verbal argument, Cottage Street.

6:53 p.m. — Subject into the station to report a past motor vehicle crash, Petersham Road. Under $1,000 damage.
