Athol Police Log: Aug. 26-27, 2021

Thursday, Aug. 26

8:07 p.m. – Main Street caller reported that there appeared to be a fight between 6 to 8 people in front of the Mexican place. Officer found incident was over a verbal altercation over words that were exchanged between the involved parties. All were separated and advised to keep to themselves for the night.

9:07 p.m. – Lobby walk-in inquired about getting a restraining order against his ex-wife who was making threats towards him.

9:29 p.m. – 911 caller from Concord Street area reported a male party kicked in her door and took off. Male party had last been seen heading towards Massgrow, wearing only shorts.

11:16 p.m. – Anonymous caller reported someone was building something with an impact gun and reporting party was trying to sleep. Male party explained that his door was kicked in earlier in the night and was repairing the door so it would lock. Male party said he was done fixing the door.

Friday, Aug. 27

8:14 a.m. – Patrol Officer called in to create a call for service regarding a welfare check on a juvenile. Juvenile had not been at school so far. Attempted to make contact with mom and child at apartment. No answer. No answer from neighboring apartments either. No answer on cell phone, mailbox is full. Attempted to contact family, no answer either. Contacted previous DCF worker and awaiting call back. In-house address in Hingham. Hingham PD contacted and will check the address.

12:51 p.m. – Metropolitan Court area caller reported a vehicle that constantly speeds through Metro Court from Main Street to Marble Street. Caller spoke with the female party the other day about it, but she was doing it again and almost hit a child. Caller acknowledged it is a private way, and does not feel comfortable attempting to talk to her again. Requested an officer, but later called back stating the vehicle had since left the area.

2:10 p.m. – Hampstead Place caller reported that the neighbor kids are continuing to harass her. This time they were throwing apples at her house and she was concerned someone will break her windows. Officer left message for mother of the kids regarding this incident.
