Athol Police Log: Aug. 19-20, 2021

Thursday, Aug. 19

12:14 – 12:45 a.m. – Multiple building/business securtiy checks Main Street through Pleasant Street area.

1:19 a.m. – Lobby walk-in to apply for an FID.

2:15 a.m. – Call from Exchange Street about a suspicious vehicle in the area revealed operator had pulled over to use telephone. All was secure.

5:17 a.m. – Caller from Pleasant Street area reported someone going up and down the street screaming. Officer checked area. No issues found.

4:17 p.m. – Main Street motor vehicle accident reported when two vehicles backed into each other. No injuries, no airbags deployed, no smoke or fluids leaking. Report filed.

6:17 p.m. – Chestnut Hill Avenue caller inquired about legality of surveillance cameras on neighboring properties. Advised of court options if feel it is an invasion of privacy.

7:11 p.m. – Chestnut Street and Sanders Street area caller reported six to seven juveniles were spray painting the old Sanders Street School building. Building was tagged with spray paint, photos were taken and a report was filed.

9:26 p.m. – Marble Street caller reported a person who had been trespassed from the property was in one of the apartments. Officers learned individual had been invited in to help clean out the apartment.

10:51 p.m. – 911 call for a female party actively in seizure. Transported to hospital.

Friday, Aug. 20

5:54 a.m. – Petersahm and Woodlawn Roads area patrol reported a primary line down due to very large tree branch in the Lyon’s Hill Road area. National Grid notified and AFD headed out with APD.

9:49 a.m. – Pequoig Avenue traffic stop resulted in vehicle being towed due to registration status.

12:14 p.m. – Motor vehicle accident at Pinedale and West Royalston Road. No injuries, airbag deployed. National Grid notified regarding pole #17. Report filed.

12:41 p.m. – 911 call from Unity Avenue area of tow people yelling and punching each other.

2:29 p.m. – 911 call from Hapgood and Riverbend streets where caller stated they observed a red Chevy pickup hit a pole and take off up Hapgood towards CVS. Vehicle was towed and report filed.

2:42 p.m. – Lobby walk-in with fishing pole found at Silver Lake.
