Athol Police Log: Aug. 13-15, 2021

Friday, Aug. 13

4:30 p.m. – Lobby walk-in asked for the call history on a unknown subject. Reporting party was advised that they needed to know the person’s name, and then they could then fill out a public records request.

5:27 p.m. – Several 911 calls came in for a three-car accident at Chestnut Hill Avenue and Main Street with fluids leaking and an initial unknown status on personal injuries. Athol Fire Department and ambulance arrived at the scene with police, who assisted with traffic control, the filing of an accident report and courtesy transport from the scene.

7:21 p.m. – Several 911 calls came in for a single motor vehicle accident into a pole on Main Street. The airbags had deployed and car was leaking fluids. The motor vehicle operator appeared to have injuries to left arm and finger. Athol Fire, Police and ambulance arrived and National Grid was notified for safety inspection of pole that had been struck.

7:35 p.m. – Welfare request in the Walnut Street area for a driver that had stayed on the phone with control due a panic attack while driving. Confirmed to be safe at home and was fine.

7:51 p.m. – Belleview Drive area caller reported observing what appeared to be some teens, in multiple cars, parked in front of their residence who might be using controlled substances. Gone on arrival.

10:57 p.m. – Prospect Street area caller reported their neighbor’s light shining into the reporting party’s residence. Officer spoke with neighbor and light was turned off.

11:29 p.m. – Main Street business requested assistance with an unwanted person, who has been trespassed from the property, standing on the sidewalk in front of the business. Subject took off running upon officer arrival on the scene. Follow up to be continued tomorrow with store manager on how to proceed.

Saturday, Aug. 14

12:10 a.m. – South Street wrong way parking violation issued.

1:49 a.m. – 911 call from Cottage Street area reported a person slipping in and out of consciousness/faint pulse/combative. Police assisted AFD with transport to hospital.

2:15 a.m. – 911 call from Chestnut Hill Avenue area resident who reported difficulty breathing after medical procedure the day before. Transported to hospital.

2:28 a.m. – Crescent Street caller reported their vehicle had been struck by neighbor, again. There was red paint damage over headlight and bumper. Officer contacted neighbor and will follow up with them in the morning with filing report.

5:26 a.m. – Noise complaint of slamming doors from Marble Street area. Officer mediated.

6:13 a.m. – Lobby walk-in for assistance with handling harassment situation.

6:07 p.m. – Crescent Street traffic stop resulted in vehicle being towed for being unregistered, no inspection sticker.

7:07 p.m. – Ward Street caller reported their house had been hit by someone shooting BB guns. Report filed.

8:13 p.m. – Silver Lake Park patrol sent two fisherman on their way.

9:34 p.m. – Main Street patrol was approached by female who stated she observed two white males wearing all black and one had a hand gun. Parties swore at her. Multiple officers responded to the area and searched in and around Athol Spirits, Ocean State, and South Street area. Spoke to two juveniles near Cumberland Farms who stated they had not seen anything.

Sunday, Aug. 15

10 a.m. – Pastor reported female in hospital scrubs and with a medical band is in the parking lot harassing the church traffic. They were sent on their way.

12:58 p.m. – Lobby walk-in to report their vehicle had been vandalized.

1:26 p.m. – Party in lobby with injured German Shepard. Animal Control Officer arrived and took possession of the dog.

2:08 p.m. – 911 call reported Main Street and Petersham Road two-car motor vehicle accident in front of the High School with multiple injuries. Vehicles towed and report filed.

3:11 p.m. – Starrett Avenue caller reported a large black dog acting aggressively, barking and growling at people and other dogs. Information taken and patrol officer in area made aware.

5:14 p.m. – Pleasant Street caller requested assistance at Ellinwood with an unwanted person walking around the golf course causing employees to feel uncomfortable. Negative contact with the person. But officer advised employees to verbally trespass the individual until proper paperwork could be completed, and call police if further incidents occur.

5:22 p.m. – Fish Street caller reported a lot of water was streaming down the street. DPW (Department of Public Works) notified.

7:29 p.m. – Party in lobby to be served trespass notice. Paperwork served.
