Tuesday, July 24

7:37 a.m. — Walk-in, Sex Offender Registry Board. Follow-up.

8:06 a.m. — Fire, public assist; Responding to Main Street for odor investigation.

8:59 a.m. — Pleasant Street, officer stopped by someone reporting a manhole cover stickin in the air. DPW notified.

9:13 a.m. — Complaint, traffic hazard. Caller reports cars in the road, School Street.

9:34 a.m. — Party in lobby reporting someone had a tag sale and left property on the sidewalk on Main Street. Upon arrival, property had been removed.

10:27 a.m. — Dispute, property, New Sherborn Road. Tree company calling to speak to an officer regarding them cutting down some trees and the neighbor thinks its her property. Advised the male party to call if the neighbor becomes a hazard for their work environment.

10:46 a.m. — Medical emergency, Daniel Shays Highway. Woods Ambulance requesting an Athol ambulance because they are unavailable.

11:11 a.m. — Department of Children and Families requesting records from last six months, Fish Street.

11:17 a.m. — Officer attempted to make contact with neighbor on New Sherborn Road.

12:03 p.m. — Party asked to speak with Animal Control Officer regarding a skunk in a trap, Wallingford Avenue. Called Environmental Police; officer assisted ACO on scene.

12:49 p.m. — 911, disturbance, Ridge Avenue. Unwanted male on front steps. As officer arrived to residence, male party was standing at the front door on the porch. As officer exited vehicle he began to walk away, and ignored officer’s questions and left the scene. Officer spoke with the female who stated she did not want him there and he had been there for most of the day walking around her house and peering through the windows. Officer attempted to make contact with male again on Church Street. Officer advised him that the female did not want him there so he was ordered not to return; he continued to walk away.

1:41 p.m. — Burglar alarm reported by alarm company, School Street. Officer reporting unsecure door; he will be making entry.

1:50 p.m. — Report of motor vehicle accident, Brookside Road. Vehicles operated by Amelia ] Tedford, 120 Shore Drive, Athol, and Robert Aduah of Manchester, Conn. were in collision on Brookside Road. Aduah vehicle was stopped on Brookside Road waiting to make a right hand turn onto South Main Street. Tedford rear-ended Aduah. Damage was under $1,000 and parties exchanged information.

2:07 p.m. — Follow-up investigation by ACO, Carpenter Road.

2:25 p.m. — Property lost, Essex Street. Female reports she lost her wallet somewhere and that someone was using her debit card at Walmart. Referred to Orange Police Department.

2:53 p.m. — Welfare check requested, Adams Drive. Party requests officer check on status of female. Winchendon Police called and female party was located.

3:07 p.m. — Property damage, Silver Lake Beach. Caller states there are kids breaking picnic tables and throwing them in the water; lifeguard requesting an officer. Parties were gone on arrival. Table was broken and pieces nad been thrown around.

3:11 p.m. — Motor vehicle accident, South Main Street. VEhicles operated by Tyler Hanks, of 66 Maple Street, Athol, and Maryah J. Thompson, of 117 Athol Road, Royalston, were in collision on South Main Street. (Acting Chief/Sergeant not available at station to provide additional information).

3:22 p.m. — 911 misdial/hangup, Petersham Road. Confirmed accidental.

3:34 p.m. — Suspicious person, Silver Lake School. Caller reporting three suspicious people walking around the school grounds. Officer spoke with parties sitting on steps who stated they were just having a conversation. Advised to leave property and to not return.

4:07 p.m. — Alarm company reporting general fire alarm activation, Main Street. Officer reporting it’s coming from laundry room, possible dryer, with slight smoke in air. Command states fire contained to the dryer and will be on scene for awhile. Ambulance requested for medical. Officer assisted AFD.

4:31 p.m. — Assisted other agency, Barre Police Department, Lyons Hill Road. Negative contact with vehicle in question.

4:45 p.m. — Report of soliciting, Goddard Street. Caller states there is someone soliciting solar panels without a license to do so. Gone on arrival.

4:55 p.m. — 911 tree/wire down. Caller states tree limb on wire near Flint’s Garage, between poles 61-62. Notified Verizon.

5:02 p.m. — 911 medical emergency, Twichell Street. Request for an ambulance for a 64-year-old female with history of congestive heart failure and COPD having chest pains. Assisted Athol Fire Department.

5:47 p.m. — Report of child abuse/neglect, Exchange Street. Police calling DCF.

5:54 p.m. — Tree/wire down, South Main Street. Caller states tree limb on wire right before McDonald’s. Checked area. Officer could only locate tree from earlier call.

6:29 p.m. — Suspicious activity, Unity Avenue. Caller states there are two males in the basement of an abandoned house; he suspects 94c activity. Officer reports house is secure. (Acting Chief/Sergeant not available at station to provide additional information).

6:57 p.m. — Medical emergency, South Street. Request for an ambulance for a 56-year-old male party who has had his knee give way. He is now also complaining of chest pain. Assisted AFD.

7:28 p.m. — Suspicious vehicle, Coolidge Street. Caller states car parked in middle of the road and no one is in the car. Found vehicle parked in travel lane, attempted to contact owner. Negative contact. Dale’s towed the vehicle to remove hazard from roadway.

7:54 p.m. — Miscellaneous incident, Partridgeville Road. Fire department reported receiving a call regarding a hookup on the fire hydrant from flushing the hydrants. Spoke to water department and they are aware and stated it is okay.

8:41 p.m. — Insurance company requesting accident report.

8:48 p.m. — House check, School Street. House secure.

9:35 p.m. — Prisoner released.

9:42 p.m. — Party going with police escort to retrieve her vehicle, Prospect Street. Officer stood by; no issues.

11:22 p.m. — Assisted other agency, Brookside Road. Assisted State Police with motor vehicle stop.

Wednesday, July 25

1:12 a.m. — Suspicious vehicle, Exchange Street.

1:36 a.m. — Suspicious activity, Union Street. While on patrol, officer encountered a male subject attempting to get into a vehicle. Officer stopped to check; found to be owner of vehicle. All secure.

1:52 a.m. — House check, Silver Lake Street. All secure.

3:28 a.m. — House check, Newton Street.

3:33 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, South Main Street. Motorist delivering newspapers.

5:05 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Daniel Shays Highway. Warning issued for speeding.

5:47 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Daniel Shays Highway.  Warning issued for speeding.

5:53 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Daniel Shays Highway. Warning issued for speeding.

6:10 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Brookside Road. Warning issued for speeding.

6:17 a.m. — Medical emergency, Riverbend Street. E-911 caller requesting an ambulance to seek treatment  physically and psychologically. Subject transported to Athol Hospital.

7:59 a.m. — Officer picked up hypodermic needle on Pleasant Street at Doe Valley Road. Destroyed properly.

8:23 a.m. — Prospect Street party requested assistance retrieving items at home Restraining order in effect. Negative contact with other party.

8:48 a.m. — Ambulance responded to Old Keene Road for 83-year-old male with neck pain and difficulty breathing. Transported.

8:55 a.m. — Harrington Street caller states woman across from her apartment gave out her number to friends who are now harassing her. Advised to block all communications with this person. If harassment continues, apply for Harassment Protection Order (HARPO) from court.

9:29 a.m. — Medical emergency, Intervale Avenue. Female party fell overnight, is now weak and confused.

9:40 a.m. — Follow-up with Environmental police officer regarding skunk trapped on Unity Avenue. Trap and stake turned over to EPO who went to residence; no one home.

9:43 a.m. — Caller reports drugs found in corner of store, Main Street. Item seized, tagged into evidence and sent to drug lab.

11:41 a.m. — Report of completely exposed male walking around, South Street. Wearing a teal tank, Carhart olive gray pants, short brown hair possibly spiked at top. Area checked, negative contact.

1:02 p.m. — Market Basket reports shoplifter. One person arrested.

1:35 p.m. — Caller from church reports property in front of yard on Canal Street (sofa), and asked for options to get it taken care of. Message left for building inspector.

1:57 p.m. — Suspicious activity, Sanders Street. Caller reports kids went through the window of the abandoned school.

3:04 p.m. — 911 caller reports medical emergency, subject with weakness, School Street.

4:13 p.m. — Prospect Street caller complaining vehicle is blocking his driveway.

4:26 p.m. — Park Avenue caller reports teenager with all dark clothes was breaking into red shed at Bigelow School. Shed unable to be secured; left message for DPW. No visible damage to area.

4:37 p.m. — 911 medical emergency. Male complaining about pain from sunburn over 24 hours ago.

5:02 p.m. — Tower Road caller reports male being verbally aggressive. Officer took information from both parties and they were sent on their way.

5:11 p.m. — Caller reports side door on Templeton Road residence has been open for two days, suspicious activity inside. Two officers checked residence; front and rear doors both open and unsecured. No one inside. Interior in extreme disarray and appears to have been that way for some time.

5:14 p.m. — Subjects in station report their mother smashed some of her own belongings in front of their children, School Street. They were advised by Department of Children and Families to report such incidents to police. Subjects staying elsewhere for evening. Officers unable to make contact with mother.

6:03 p.m. — Templeton Road business alarm sounding; basement motion. Officers checked all doors and windows which were secure. No signs of any break or suspicious event.

6:34 p.m. — Shore Drive male in lobby bitten by his own dog, requesting transport. Ambulance and Animal control contacted.

6:47 p.m. — Report of party loitering the past couple days, Main Street.

7:30 p.m. — Officer filed child abuse/neglect report.

7:44 p.m. — Report of male wearing muscle shirt and shorts harassing a female, Prospect at School streets. Officer separated and spoke with both parties. Both stated they were having fun and messing around. Female said not being harassed. Sent on their way.

7:56 p.m. — 911-misdial, Walnut Street. Voicemail on call back.

8:30 p.m. — Grove Street caller reports female entered her home and stole personal belongings.

8:56 p.m. — Main Street caller reports female party is doing drugs in bathroom.

8:57 p.m. — Breaking and entering, Reservoir Drive. Manager reports customer’s vehicle was broken into while they were in theater.

9:17 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Auburn Place and Main Street.

9:26 p.m. — 911 caller reports disturbance, Main Street. Party was walking in alley and four people pulled a knife on him. Party had grabbed a female as she walked by. There was an altercation. All subjects were checked and no weapons found. Sent on way.

10:05 p.m. — 911 disturbance, South Main Street. Female caller states son is destroying her house. Ambulance requested for son who punched mirror and TV causing lacerations to both hands.

10:12 p.m. — Disturbance, gathering. Caller reports a lot of commotion and fighting going on, Sanders Street at South Athol Road. Area checked, nothing found.

10:16 p.m. — Report of people fighting and yelling, Main Street. Checked area, parties had dispersed.
