Athol Police log: May 2, 2020

Saturday, May 2

12:28 a.m. — Caller reporting loud noise and talking in the area of the parking lot, Main Street. Officer made contact with four male parties who were sitting on the rear staircase. Officer did observe the male parties were being loud. Officer asked that they move along for the night. So done.

12:49 a.m. — Walk-in requesting police assistance as they do an emergency welfare check, Freedom Street. Officer assisted.

12:57 a.m. — Athol Hospital ER requesting APD transport two individuals from their ER back to a residence, Main Street. So done.

1:33 a.m. — Officer made contact with a party who advised he stepped out for a walk, Main and School streets. All appeared in order.

1:59 a.m. — Officer made contact with a party and advised him of the store’s new hours, Main Street. Party was sent on his way.

4:46 a.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for a 26-year-old having chest pain, Harrington Street. COVID-19 screened negative. AFD transported to hospital.

10:55 a.m. — 911 caller reporting a two-car motor vehicle accident with fluids leaking and personal injury, Chestnut and Main streets. Dale’s handled the tow. Officer assisted with traffic.

11:36 a.m. — Caller reporting the back window of his truck was shot multiple times by a BB gun, North Orange Road. Reporting party will be checking video at his residence and getting back to officer. Incident occurred sometime during the last few days and unsure at what location. Multiple BB shots into the rear window. Window did not break, but has multiple chips from the BBs.

12:10 p.m. — Caller asking for police assistance, Laurel Street. Driveway does not belong to apartment complex, but downstairs tenant is in the driveway and the reporting party is moving out and does not want a confrontation to ask her to move while they leave because she always causes issues with them. Kept the peace.

12:10 p.m. — Caller reporting her boyfriend’s son’s unauthorized use of truck owned by her boyfriend who recently passed away, Silver Lake Street. No registration in vehicle. Male party in question at the station to speak with an officer regarding his father’s girlfriend harassing him and wants him arrested. His father recently passed and left everything to him and his brothers. All parties advised the matter is civil and to go through their attorneys and/or court to rectify.

1:05 p.m. — Caller reporting two tenants in a verbal altercation, South Main Street. One male drove away. Advised to call back should there be another issue.

1:29 p.m. — Caller reporting her patio table was stolen from the back yard, Twichell Street. Caller requesting extra patrols.

1:47 p.m. — Caller reporting his dog bit him and he wants the dog removed from the residence with kids in the household, Western Avenue. Reporting party was seen at Athol Hospital. Same faxed paperwork.

2:11 p.m. — 911 hangup, Ridge Avenue. Upon call back, party stated no emergency and while on hold reporting party hung up without giving information. Upon call back, party stated they would like an ambulance for a dazed/confused 60-year-old male party with possibly low sugar. ALS mutual aid requested for second patient, 96-year-old female with neck pain from fall. Orange ambulance en route. Transported to hospital.

3:28 p.m. — Shelburne Control calling to be on the lookout for a female party who urinated in the parking lot at O’Reilly’s in Orange and had an altercation with the clerk, Exchange Street. Female party lives in New Salem. OPD has the vehicle. Assisted OPD.

3:45 p.m. — Officer moving a turtle out of the road, Lake Ellis Road.

4:13 p.m. — Caller wanting to report that her ex-husband stole money from her, Partridgeville Road. Report taken.

4:31 p.m. — Caller stating that they always see a kid that looks 5 years old walking around the neighborhood pushing a stroller that has a small child in it, Park Avenue. Reporting party stated that they see this happen frequently. Spoke to the reporting party and advised to contact APD when they witness it again.

4:43 p.m. — Caller reporting he saw on Facebook a female making Q5 threats, Exchange Street. Officer advised and caller was told to report to Fitchburg Police Department. 911 caller reporting he/she was on Facebook that female party posted Q5 statements on “Athol Ma 01331” page regarding the same female. Female party isn’t at residence. Went to female party’s father’s house. Negative contact with the female party making threats.

5:42 p.m. — LifeStar requesting fire department secure a landing zone, Main Street.

6:33 p.m. — Officer out with a parked vehicle, Doe Valley Road.

7:08 p.m. — Multiple 911 calls for a motor vehicle accident, South Athol Road. Dale’s is on scene. Harvard Avenue to Fairview will be closed due to heavy traffic with Engine 3 and motor vehicle accident.

7:12 p.m. — Caller reporting there is a four-wheeler going up and down the street with kids on the front of it, Laurel Street.

7:52 p.m. — Caller requesting officer to her residence for the children that are constantly on her property but are now yelling at her, Laurel Street. Spoke to the reporting party and the mother of the children.

8:09 p.m. — 911 call for male party that was screaming at the passenger and then ran the red light, South Main Street. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

8:10 p.m. — 911 call for fireworks, School Street. Received other calls on the non-emergency line for same issue. Male party was advised to stop.

8:24 p.m. — Caller stating her kids were walking and an older white male party wearing glasses pulled over next to them yelling at them, Pleasant Street. Reporting party stated that the vehicle was driving past them multiple times and continued to turn around. The vehicle was described to be a black pickup truck with stickers on the front and rear and a handicap placard. Unknown license plate. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

9:13 p.m. — Caller stating that a female party is making Q5 statements on Facebook page, Exchange Street. OPD called stating they are receiving calls, OPD was advised female party lives in Fitchburg.

10:08 p.m. — Caller reporting parties are outside and yelling between houses, High and Liberty streets. Party shut down. All parties left the yard.

11:49 p.m. — 911 caller requesting an ambulance for a female party who is short of breath, Kelton Street. Reporting party claims she took an edible about an hour ago. COVID-19 screened negative. Officer assisted AFD with patient. Transported to hospital.
