Athol Police Log: Dec. 23, 2022 to Jan. 1, 2023

Friday, December 23

2:57 a.m. – Police assisted caller from Marble Street with two unwanted parties in her apartment; one tried to come after her and beat her up, so she left.

3:13 a.m. – Caller from Marble Street reported that she is woken up at 3:00 a.m. every morning from yelling, and a male party chasing the female down the back staircase yelling that she has controlled substances in her apartment.

Sunday, December 25

6:14 p.m. – Sanders Street caller reported that there was a male party wearing all black that attempted to open the driver’s side door of a vehicle near the Eagle’s Club. Reporting party stated the subject was headed down Sanders Street toward Chestnut Street. Police located the subject who stated he was walking back from Cumberland Farms and denied attempting to open any car doors. He was sent on his way.

8:29 p.m. – Motor vehicle complaint from Hapgood Street area. Caller stated he was behind a vehicle that was not stopping at any stop sign. Police located the motor vehicle on South Main St. No signs of impairment or other issues. Advised operator of the complaint.

11:14 p.m. – School Street caller reported hearing a loud bang, yelling and saw a flash. Reporting party saw out the window that her neighbors were running outside, and stated they were just shot at and laughing. Another caller reported hearing an explosion and had everything on their camera footage.

Monday, December 26

8:25 a.m. – Parmenter Street caller requested to speak with an officer regarding drugs left in her house.

3:42 p.m. – Exchange Street caller requested police assistance about her son giving her TV to a drug dealer for drugs. She would like her property back. Police advised her to follow up with her local PD. APD made contact with son who stated that he would be contacting the the reporting party to work out the issue.

Tuesday, December 27

12:29 a.m. – Suspicious person call from South Street area of a white male wearing a hoodie and jeans that had stopped the reporting party as they were driving and asked for help. Bartender reported male with injuries just tried to enter the bar after being kicked out two hours earlier. Police located the subject in front of Hometown Bank and he stated he had gotten into a fight with another male party down the street. Subject declined police assistance and offer of a courtesy ride.

1:24 a.m. – Call from Crescent Street Security reporting a male with injuries to his face. Upon police officers arrival subject became hostile toward the PD. Officers separated from the scene and stood by while the FD looked over. Subject did eventually decide to go to AMH with the FD, but would not explain what happened.

11:47 a.m. – Party in the station lobby reported her purse was stolen.

2:48 p.m. – Brickyard Road caller reported an individual was illegally attaching plates to vehicles.

Thursday, December 29

9:47 a.m. – Laurel Street caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in her driveway. Police called owner of vehicle on multiple numbers, no answer. Left message to move vehicle and that the home owners were due back at 4:00 p.m., will tow vehicle if still there.

Saturday, December 31

12:37 a.m. – Police in the Exchange Street area came up individuals fighting in the roadway, outside of the bar. Both were offered medical attention and both signed refusal. Advised of court options and sent on their way.

Sunday, January 1

12:16 a.m. – 911 call from Exchange Street for a male party causing a scene when asked to leave and refusing. Security was outside with the male party; white shirt and green Celtics hat. Male party was kicked out of bar and told could no longer come back. Sent on their way.

12:31 a.m. – Call from Main Street where store employee reported a white male with green hat was causing a disturbance. Male party was transported home.

8:27 p.m. – Main Street building owner reported a male party that does not live there was in the building, sleeping in the hallway. Male party was sent on their way. Landlord advised to get a no trespass order if subject was not welcome there.
